best part of the day: sand in my shower-tray
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015/08/sand-in-my-shower-tray.html
Best part of the day. Monday, 3 August 2015. Sand in my shower-tray. Tide was quite far in and the water was mostly very clear. We had noticed there was a warm breeze from west to east so when we got to the beach we walked along towards Aberlady. Then got in and swam east which made for a confidence inspiring zoom along the beach. We then cleverly got out and walked back not needing to find out if the swim back would have been really hard work or not. Lovely afternoon out and swim! Deep water runs still.

best part of the day: August 2015
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Monday, 31 August 2015. I stepped off the crowded train of holiday makers to meet Nick and after getting a signal we set off up North Berwick Law. The skies were pretty clear and the view out to the Isle of May was sharp. There was a background sense of urgency so we didn't hang around. However it wasn't race pace either. Also we spent the whole time chatting. Spider getting in on the act. This panorama completely distorts the first floor. If you are familiar with Trap Law race you ...

best part of the day: North Berwick Law Race
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015/08/north-berwick-law-race.html
Best part of the day. Thursday, 6 August 2015. North Berwick Law Race. Great photo posted by Caroline M. But since she is in the photo someone else must have taken it.). Great to see Ben well enough to "race" and although he promised to take it easy was not too many minutes down on his 2013 time. By the way if anyone knows where I can find the results for the Portobello Leg of the ELSS please let me know as someone is emailing me regularly asking about them. Charlotte, first lady. A couple of folk went i...

best part of the day: March 2015
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Monday, 30 March 2015. Wild weekend weather - cancel everything! Just as Spring seemed to have arrived a low pressure squatted over the country unleashing high winds and low temps. While certain smartie-pants say stuff like there's no such thing as bad weather, you just have to have the right clothes for it etc. Then the sun came out and it was pretty nice for a moment or 2. There was also a strong wind giving everything below the knees a sand blasting. The bridge to nowhere. Knowin...

best part of the day: April 2015
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Monday, 27 April 2015. A few weeks ago Matthew emailed the club to let us know the dates of the event. On the PRC fb group page there was a broad selection of responses from how badly organised it had been in previous years to how wonderful the course and biscuit medals were. Did one offset the other? Was £10 - this year £12 - too much to pay? Did fun and friendly. Compensate a lack of results and no prizes? Green and sometimes said 10k bike. Certificates and biscuit medals. On the ...

best part of the day: January 2015
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Monday, 26 January 2015. Don't think this NB Celtic Cross is a war memorial. Strangely I didn't think of myself as a tourist. Also I wasn't going to the beach. This caravan looks like a vagrant in the street with his trousers hanging off. I went up the dunes to see the beach but then back down to the trails on the other side rather than get sand in my gears. Met a couple of very cute ponies. But this one's manners weren't exemplary. They looked as if they had just been shampooed.

best part of the day: tour of fife day4
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015/08/tour-of-fife-day4.html
Best part of the day. Saturday, 1 August 2015. Tour of fife day4. Cambo Estate near Kingsbarns. Today was more like a fun day out that also had a race in it rather than a necessary chore (see day 3). I had a splendid time even though the race plan didn't exactly pan out. Could have been better, could have been worse. But it couldn't have been much more fun and in better company which is surely the best possible outcome. So the upside of arriving "punctually" is a good look at the course. And the oppo...

best part of the day: September 2014
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Sunday, 28 September 2014. Caught the tail end of Jenni's E2NB run on the drive to Gullane. Hoped to run up from the beach to cheer them on but they had gone. Ran back to beach after checking out the Ryder Cup wannabees on the golf course. Furry caterpillars on the rampage. I could have happily dawdled among the shells and rocks today after yesterday's exertions. After a 5 miler we climbed into wet suits for a submergathon. Two breweries hill race. 27/09/14. Peter approaching the fi...

best part of the day: May 2015
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Sunday, 24 May 2015. Low tide, high spirits. Nice to be race free this weekend and just spend the time relaxing. The sun came out and it actually felt like the first day of summer. Mary had suggested a 10 miler; starting at Gullane but going down the road to Archerfields then along the beach to Aberlady and back to Gullane on the JMW through the golf course. The good news is my new shoes improves my footy bruise. We saw some fat bikers miles away at the other end of the beach. Is sl...

http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Friday, 31 July 2015. Tour of fife day3. Great pic of myself - don't remember wearing the bunny ears but the camera never lies - by the genius photographer St. Andrew the Stavert. The only decent running of the day, up to the summit. Nick standing in for Andrew as the fourth Porty. Photo by Andrew. Crap weather for July. I was started with Barry. Thanks to Lynne Zabek for photo. Willie with MG just visible. Good effort from Nick. Alastair just a couple of secs behind Del. He did say...
