journey of an aspiring meat artist: things I love:
http://ladybutcher.blogspot.com/2009/12/things-i-love.html
Journey of an aspiring meat artist. Thursday, December 3, 2009. This week, just to show my cynical side, I'm going to begin with something I don't love- lab grown meat. Although this article raves of the wonders of this product that is being developed in the Netherlands, touting that it tastes like a "soggy form of pork" and is PETA-approved (two things I look for when shopping for meats), I think I'll skip it. Have I mentioned that I also love sarcasm? Provides food that is as local as you can get-.

journey of an aspiring meat artist: a club worth joining
http://ladybutcher.blogspot.com/2010/01/club-worth-joining.html
Journey of an aspiring meat artist. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. A club worth joining. For Christmas, the man purchased a subscription to Zingerman's Bacon of the Month Club. For me. Funny thing, same thing happened as did with the Valentines' Day/Kitchenaid meat grinder debochle of 2009. A few days before the holiday, I forwarded him an article that I found to be exciting. A bacon of the month club! What a great idea. Husband immediately gets kicked puppy face. Oh no Here it comes. Lady vs. food.

Colombiador: Off To the Beach
http://boriskat.blogspot.com/2010/11/off-to-beach.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. Off To the Beach. This will be a short entry - we leave for the airport in about 45 minutes. Yesterday we did more museum-gazing, and today we kind of just wandered around near our hotel, past some interesting stuff I hadn't seen yet. I'm going to put most of my pics on FB because really they're just random shots of buildings or art I found interesting. Yesterday we finished up at the Banco de la República free series of museums, after having soup (" caldo. People walk around...

some sweets after the meats: ciabatta, hacked.
http://ladybakes.blogspot.com/2010/03/ciabatta-hacked.html
Some sweets after the meats. Wednesday, March 17, 2010. I may never knead bread again. Okay, that's probably not true, as I find the process quite soothing and reminiscent of my childhood; but I was finally compelled to try a "no-knead" recipe today. After finally succumbing to the futility of making lovely loaves of bread that I cannot consume, I happened upon a 60-second recipe for ciabatta that I could no longer ignore. I rolled out of bed at 6:07am and dumped. Two cups of warm water. And about how ma...

For the first time this year, and oh, what unexpected excitement on a Sunday morning. First, le haul – I’ve never had Russian kale, and have also never cooked with wee baby eggplant, so am looking forward to playing with this stuff:. Second, le tranny wreck! Excited about possibilities, scared about possibilities. Missing lavender macarons. The nicest coffee people ever. And my California ladies. I’m sorry for ever skipping a single coffeetime, gelatotime, pubtime, knittingtime, or any other excuse for random wandering. I’ve moved a lot. This one seems like the hardest. How many flyers should we make, 500, 5,000?
