Ecuador

http://robinisaway.com/2014/05/ecuador

I entered in Ecuador in the south and for my first night there I went to Cuenca. This is an historical colonial city with a few sights to see. Cuenca located in the highlands has an altitude of 2500 m, so it’s a bit cold there. I spent only two days there. It’s nice to walk around the historical district. Otherwise there is a really interesting big museum about Ecuador populations and history. I continued my trip in the direction of the coast and I made a stop in Guayaquil. Lot of iguanas on the coast.

Bolivia – part 2

http://robinisaway.com/2014/02/bolivia-part-2

Bolivia – part 2. After those few days in south Bolivia I continued my travel to Potosi. At first sight Potosi doesn’t seems that much exiting, it’s a medium town with not so much attraction. The city is located at 4070m, thus making it one of the highest city in the world. But otherwise, Potosi is mainly famous due to its mines and all the history related. Indeed during the 16. Entrance of the mine. Some miner playing with dynamite. Some more photos :. Also I wanted to stayed a bit in Sucre in order to ...

Arequipa & the Colca Canyon

http://robinisaway.com/2014/03/arequipa-the-colca-canyon

Arequipa & the Colca Canyon. After the region of Cusco I start to leave the Andes highlands and make my way to the Pacific coast. Low lands are really different from the highlands I saw in Bolivia and Peru. Life and culture is different between those both areas. In highlands the Andes culture is really present and you can notice it everywhere (in the way people dress, eat…). The coast has different cultures and history that you notice. I did a few days stop in Arequipa. We continued the day by stopping i...

Friday, November 5, 2010. So, I posted a lovely blog yesterday about my children. I searched through my pictures, trying to find ones that represented their personalities. They all looked so cute. After a few hours I get a phone call from one of my daughters, telling me, very emphatically that I needed to find some other pictures. Those were the most horrible, embarrassing pictures I could have found. Why is it that when we look at a picture of ourselves, all we can see are the flaws? Every morning at Ca...
