Rees and Margaret were converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Glamorgan, Wales. They decided to join the saints in Utah and boarded a ship called the Chimborazo for America. When they finally reached Springville, Utah, Margaret died.
