Riding with the Scott and BR Cycling Team

Monday, October 5, 2009. Sunday October 4, 2009 Training Ride. Photo taken by Alex Hamlow. What a strange week it was. My buddy Ross lent me his LeMond for the Santa Barbara ride we had planned for this weekend. But, the ride was not to be. Here are the sequence of events that led to me dropping out of the Tour de Taco. A lot of people went to extraordinary lengths to raise money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Will be decided on Wednesday. Great times ahead! Rob in Training for QMDC. I'm so bad ...

Riding with the Scott and BR Cycling Team: August 2009

http://www.robintraining.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 30, 2009. Sunday August 30, 2009, At Home. Today I'm on the couch after being "kicked off the island" of the Scott and BR Cycling Challenge. It's been a rather eventful week, and I need a little break from training with the Qualcomm Million Dollar Challenge riders. Today is the Torry Pines Time Trail. I went for a hard ride yesterday and I don't feel up to a big effort today. I slept in for the first Sunday in months! Rob in Training for QMDC. Sunday, August 23, 2009. The sun really wiped ...

http://www.robintraining.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 28, 2009. Sunday June 28, 2009 SDIT. Did you ever have one of those days where everything just sort of fell into place? Man, it just doesn't get better than that! I had trouble with my timer/heart rate monitor, so I had no idea what my finishing time was, but I really didn't care. It was a great day! Now, for a well deserved nap. Rob in Training for QMDC. Riding with the Scott and BR Cycling Team: Sunday September 20, 2009 Training Ride

Friday, September 25, 2009. Sunday September 20, 2009 Training Ride. The ride was great! I rode with Adam in Group 1/2 through the first part of the ride. Most of the major climbs are in this first 20 miles. After the SAG stop in Alpine, Adam left with a couple of other fast riders and I held back and rode with Jack and Ron(? I'm so bad with names. :( Anyway, it was great riding with them as we kept a good tempo without hammering. The ride back to Rancho San Diego from Alpine is beautiful. To compete wit...

On the Road to QMDC: San Clemente - 86 miles

http://ontheroadtoqmdc.blogspot.com/2009/09/san-clemente-86-miles.html

Sunday, September 27, 2009. San Clemente - 86 miles. We were supposed to do the crazy Oceanside Ranger Twist. Ride today but coach Mari decided it would be better to do a coastal ride instead due to the forecast of extremely high inland temperatures. I was not feeling well at all this morning. Planning and organizing the Brew Bash took its toll on me for sure, and the many sleepless nights coupled with a period of not eating or exercising properly finally caught up with me. Way to go, Adam! Adam, Alex an...

Monday, September 21, 2009. Great Western Loop - 40 miles, 3228'. The Great Western Loop is known to be a tough ride with lots of climbing packed into a relatively short distance. I have to say, though.after back-to-back centuries last week, the ride this week was a piece of cake. We were done by 10:30.even with several stops along the way! That was perfect because it gave me just enough time to get out to the Triathlon Club of San Diego's 25th Anniversary party for some last-minute Brew Bash. Around 6:4...

Tuesday, September 8, 2009. On With the Show. My sweet Lulu has passed away. I miss her so much that my eyes are leaking. Yet the show must go on. Tomorrow morning around 6:45 am, I'll be on the Scott and BR Show on xx1090 AM. Adam is safe with immunity, but the rest of us- Alex, Brian, Joe, Rob and I- are all on chopping block. On the Road to QMDC: Revelation, Robbery, Rendezvous, Race and Ride in Review

http://ontheroadtoqmdc.blogspot.com/2009/10/revelation-robbery-rendezvous-race-and.html

Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Revelation, Robbery, Rendezvous, Race and Ride in Review. Life has been hectic! Last Wednesday, I left work feeling great! Doing the math on the Scott and BR Cycling Challenge. Contestants' fundraising efforts led me to the conclusion that with just a little more work, SEVEN of the finalists would be able to do the QMDC ride from San Francisco to San Diego. Thursday was the ride leaders' fundraising event: Rendezvous in the Ranch. I was lucky enough to have the winning bid o...
