Robin Wong: An Awesome July
http://robinwong.blogspot.com/2015/08/an-awesome-july.html
Thursday, August 06, 2015. It has been an interesting, long month, and it felt great to be able to be this active in shooting again. I think I deserve an over-priced cup of coffee. Shot with M.Zuiko 14-42mm EZ pancake lens. Who says the kit lens can't do good photos? Ok ok I admit I am getting addicted to coffee. I will still go out and shoot of course, nothing can stop me, but I will be more selective and careful of the places I go to. One of the best solution would be travelling outside of the city...
Robin Wong: May 2015
http://robinwong.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. Work in Progress: M.Zuiko 8mm F1.8 Fisheye. I was shooting with the new Olympus M.Zuiko 8mm F1.8 Fisheye lens last weekend, but did not collect sufficient images to compose a full blog review here. Do allow me some more time to shoot. So far I am quite in love with the lens. However, at the same time, it is not an easy lens to use! It does not work at everything you point it to, and obviously I am no fisheye expert. Nonetheless I shall do my best. Posted by Robin Wong. Olympus has r...
Robin Wong: Rewind: Olympus PEN E-P1
http://robinwong.blogspot.com/2015/08/rewind-olympus-pen-e-p1.html
Sunday, August 09, 2015. Rewind: Olympus PEN E-P1. The desire to test it out was unexpected, but I guess why not try out the first ever Micro Four Thirds camera from Olympus? And the 25mm F1.8. The images I managed to get out of the camera is fantastic. Yes it has only 12MP and the high ISO performance was not great, and the dynamic range is limited. Who cares? Honestly, I do think that the images I shot from the E-P1 blow the Fuji X100 out of water. Secondly, I liked how Carmen. Expressed her "WTF" mome...

Robin Wong: 5 Truths I Have Learned About Photography
http://robinwong.blogspot.com/2015/06/5-truths-i-have-learned-about.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. 5 Truths I Have Learned About Photography. 1) There is no bad camera nowadays. 2) Do not worry about how a good photograph should look. Shoot the photograph the way you truly want it to. 3) Growth is important. To grow, move out of comfort zone. He wrote and I quote "Beyond that, risk also means removing yourself from a comfortable situation to an uncomfortable situation that elicits responses in a photo which in turn make it interesting to you and your wider audience.". I am spe...

Beyond the Viewfinder: May 2011
http://rustieshutters.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
The tools are immaterial, the resulting piece is what's most important. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Her memory will enshrined in our hearts. 8th May 2011. God called her from among us to a home of eternal rest on Mother's Day. I'll think of you every step of the way and everything that you did. God took her home, it was his will, but in our hearts she liveth still. Every blessing you poured out, I'll turn back to remember. She is resting peacefully with Jesus in that beautiful home above. The tools are immaterial, the resulting piece is what's most important. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. In writing this entry, I found myself reflecting on the word, differences. It is a pretty simple word, everyone knows what it means, but do we really think about, or reflect upon the word? Differences are what keep us interesting and interested. Changing our haircolor, our cars, and our lifestyles once in a while can revive a stagnant existence. Even joss sticks comes in different sizes. Tuesday, July 27, 2010.

Monday, 30 July 2012. Merdeka Hopes Derailed Still. It has been a while now since I have ever enjoyed a real pang of patriotism come Merdeka Day celebrations. Never mind the bodek-strong lyrics. What are we: a bunch of sado - masochists or something? Or is someone trying to make a statement here? I have this ...

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. About My Street Portrait Photography. Why Shoot Strangers on the Street? How Do You Approach the Strangers? A solid YES. . I do engage in conversations, but normally brief, and quick. Sometimes, it was just a nod if it was ok for the photo to be taken, and no words exchanged. In some rare circumstance I would have a long conversation. . Here is the thing, there are times I do get rejected. So what? READ THE REST OF THIS ENTRY. Posted by Robin Wong.
