Pure Water for the World: October 2007
http://purewaterfortheworld.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Pure Water for the World. Wednesday, October 24, 2007. After DC, we picked up the new volunteer and drove to Carolyns house in Vermont. There we were reminded what a family PWW is. Carolyn took us to the local market and besides looking at pumpkins and gourds, Rasa tried on some garlands. The hills were on fire with the fall leaves during this sunset after the storm. This picture doesnt do it justice though. Pumpkin carving was the highlight of my night. I made the big one with the carrot nose. We will n...

Pure Water for the World: February 2007
http://purewaterfortheworld.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Pure Water for the World. Saturday, February 24, 2007. Week #28 - A long needed vacation, if only a weekend. First, we tried to load a filter up onto a horse, who wasnt too happy about this. We then decided to strap up a harness and carry it across the river. This part was the hardest part of delivering the filter. This was the last river we had to cross. From here it was just a matter of a small hill to reach the house. Here is the house, the bed is to the right and the stove left of the red dish basin.

Pure Water for the World: September 2007
http://purewaterfortheworld.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Pure Water for the World. Wednesday, September 05, 2007. Well, it looks like the US press was worst hit by this latest storm because we had no wind, little rain and never lost water, electricity or phone. I have no idea where they were getting their reports from, unless they were in La Mosiquitia where Felix landed. Everyone I talked to from around Honduras also had the same mild weather as us here in La Ceiba. Just goes to show that you should not always trust what you see on TV. Links to this post.

Pure Water for the World: March 2007
http://purewaterfortheworld.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Pure Water for the World. Thursday, March 29, 2007. A special PWW moment in El Recreo. Installing 70 filters in our first community, we were exhausted by the end of the 4th day. We had only the most far flung, uphill homes remaining and we were ready to call it quits when we met Digna. Digna Dunia Marisol Martes, 17 months old on February 7, 2007. Our army of kids helping to carry whatever they could grab. The valiant group of porters passing through a stream trying not to trip. Links to this post. It's ...

Pure Water for the World: All roads lead to Damascus
http://purewaterfortheworld.blogspot.com/2007/11/all-roads-lead-to-damascus.html
Pure Water for the World. Sunday, November 18, 2007. All roads lead to Damascus. It took us 23 hours to get from Göreme to Damascus, most of it spent waiting around in bus stations during the four layovers we had. It was a scenic journey and the people on the bus took great care of us, making sure we found all of our connections and didnt go hungry. We figured it was going to be a great trip because our first bus to Kayseri was on Kent Bus lines. There are also many ruins just abandoned along the roadside.

Pure Water for the World: Istanbul (Not Constantinople)
http://purewaterfortheworld.blogspot.com/2007/11/istanbul-not-constantinople.html
Pure Water for the World. Thursday, November 01, 2007. We left New York on long 9-hour flight bound for Istanbul, Turkey. We arrived the next day at 8:30am and spent it in the city before an even longer 10-hour overnight bus to. Here we are at JFK with Rasas mom and our two bags, which by the way are the lightest they have ever been. We have effectively condensed our lives down to 45 lbs each. This is the bathing area for the Blue Mosque where people clean their feet and hands before entering. Robert Ken...
