The life of Rob. Saturday, April 18, 2009. I have no pointy objects. I had occasion today to visit the local Social Security Administration. Call it an exercise in making sure that, when I retire, a decade or so hence, my entire 2008 income is factored into their calculations. Should make for an extra 3 bucks a month! The second visit was to show them my newly minted citizenship certificate and get moved off the non-citizens list. I don't think I've spent more than half an hour on any occasion with them.

As I said to my wife the other day, 'so what it boils down to is that a bunch of ankle biters come to your door, demand lollies (candy) and have license to abuse you if you refuse! It all smacks of legalised extortion! She shook her head sadly and we changed the subject. I think, in future years, I'll eschew the walk on Halloween.
