Richard Byers Photography: March 2009
http://richardbyers.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 13, 2009. So, as strange as this may sound - we won a trip - actually a cruise. That's right - Mr. "if it weren't for bad luck - I'd have no luck at all." - we won a cruise to the Cayman Islands and the Florida Keys. We were on the Regency Cruise line - which means we all had big state rooms - with bathrooms and balcony's - it was fabulous - here's a shot I took off the back of the ship as we were pulling away from the Keys. Déjà vu: February 2011
http://delacruz-hopper.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Let's try this again. A lifetime of love. Originally uploaded by Luna Soledad. Today is my Grandma's 84th birthday. She has certainly seen better days. Visiting her now is always bittersweet for me as the essence of the wonder-woman I grew up with has all but moved on waiting patiently for her soul to follow. That is so Grandma. I don't know how I will ever face it, but I know that time is coming. Fresh strawberries, applesauce, and a couple of new things to try - blackberry flavored water and a Starbuck...

Déjà vu: December 2010
http://delacruz-hopper.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Let's try this again. Wednesday was the Family Sick Day at our house. W00t. Everyone was home coughing and snotty with sore throats so we all spent the day in our jamoos (a.k.a. pajamas) watching television, eating pizza delivery, and fighting with one another. The fun that was had cannot be put into words. I found several mouth-watering recipes, but quickly settled upon this one from southern soul-food goddess, Paula Deen. The Best Bread Pudding by Paula Deen. 2 cups granulated sugar. 5 large beaten eggs.

Richard Byers Photography: March 2010
http://richardbyers.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 29, 2010. So - I just upgraded from my trusty Canon 40D to the new Canon 7D - and what a difference - not only was there a big jump in mega-pixels (from 10 to 18) - they moved the controls around as well. Needless to say - I've been in a big learning curve as well as reading the manual as much as possible. I've only published one image on Flickr with this new camera - but stay tuned - there are more on the way. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Other Blogs I follow. View my complete profile.

Richard Byers Photography: May 2008
http://richardbyers.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Working with some off camera flash techniques - and I used my 430ex off camera fired with my ir trigger. In this shot the 430 is off camera left and below the "subject". This is fun stuff. Sunday, May 4, 2008. Photo Shoot - lesson's learned. I had a photo shoot with Meredith on Saturday in Wake Forest and I learned a very important lesson. I've read about this before - and never really thought about it - until it happened yesterday. The lesson learned - never put your camera away.

Richard Byers Photography: It snowed -
http://richardbyers.blogspot.com/2009/01/it-snowed.html
Thursday, January 22, 2009. Well, we got some snow this week - and for this part of the country - we don't get snow that often. We ended up with about 5-6 inches where I live, which is enough to get out of work for a day. that's about it. As of today, the snow is still melting and I would expect that by this weekend it will be all gone. This picture was taken from the upstairs bedroom looking out across my backyard. Maybe spring is right around the corner. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Richard Byers Photography: Triangle Strobist Meetup for May
http://richardbyers.blogspot.com/2009/05/triangle-strobist-meetup-for-may.html
Saturday, May 23, 2009. Triangle Strobist Meetup for May. For our May meetup we headed out to Greensboro and shot in Bokeh Joe's dry cleaners. We had a great time and Joe was the greatest host - pizza and lens for everyone - not really - just the pizza. Anyway, I had a chance to use his 85 mm 1.2 L lens - WOW what a lens - with a 1.2 you could shoot in a closet. Here are some of my shots from that shoot. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
