My name is Robert Östling, and I was born 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden. I have a wide range of interests, from mathematics, computer science, amateur radio (callsign SM0YSR) and electronics to linguistics (particularly Chinese), history, and literature. Of these, computer programming seems to be the most persistent one. I have a PhD in linguistics from the Department of Lingusitics at Stockholm University. With a thesis on computational lingusitics. I should not be confused with the other Robert Östling.

I got my amateur radio license (as SM0YSR) in January 2004, and since then I have occasionally active on the shortwave CW bands. My primary interest in amateur radio is building things, some radio-related projects are destribed on this page. Probably the simplest transceiver out there, with only three (Swedish: tre. April 14th, 2011. So this week’s tech tip is a little bit different, not a program, or a full-fledged website, but simply a little trick or, dare I say it,. Google’s search engine has a number of functions which most people know very little about. Interestingly enough, they can be exploited with a little bit of trickery to allow you to do things that you never even thought about!
