North-East-South-West.: Hike through Akchour
http://frecklesandatan.blogspot.com/2014/12/hike-through-akchour.html
Thursday, December 18, 2014. About a 45 minute drive from Chefchaouen lies the national park of Akchour which has some waterfalls and a natural bridge of rock called the "Bridge of Allah". We did some hiking through the incredible mountains and along the clear, blue streams to see these sites. Bridge of Allah in the right of the photo. From the corner of my eye I saw something move and thought it was a dog. I was amazed to see that it was a wild monkey. We were astonished and so excited! We are the Beck ...

Friday, November 28, 2014. Excursion to the Sahara. I have been dreaming of riding camels in the desert for a while now. When I saw the opportunity to see more of Morocco while riding camels and camping in the desert, we took it. This is what came of it- a thrilling adventure! We drove through such diverse terrain. We saw dozens of villages, mountains, valleys, oasis, and desert. The journey to Zagora is 5 1/2 hours without stopping. We stopped many times to do and see different things. I wanted to get a...

Monday, February 17, 2014. A Local Farm in the Dutch Countryside. Why would I want all of the good nutrition to be killed through pasteurization and processing or microwaving? Foods have a certain way they need to be prepared so that we get the maximum nutrition possible from them. I really enjoy learning this stuff and feel so empowered when I know exactly what is in my food and how it is prepared. You can find out more at westonaprice.org. I'm not this skinny by chance! We started off in the city.

Saturday, October 25, 2014. The Nomad Life For Us. Why has the Beck family decided to be nomads, slowly traveling the world while Andrew freelances from his computer? Don't worry, I will definitely blog about what we experience and learn. I'd say some people (the adventurous type) when hearing about how we are going to slowly travel the world, would say, "Oh man, I wish I could do that! How is this going to be possible? And see what I imagine our life to be like (not 5 kids though). Memories of exploring...

North-East-South-West.: Essaouira
http://frecklesandatan.blogspot.com/2014/12/essaouira.html
Thursday, December 18, 2014. Essaouira is a chill port city about 2 1/2 hours west of Marrakesh. We stayed in a fantastic apartment in the middle of the medina for 2 1/2 weeks and besides the big problem with internet being slow and at times non-existent, it was perfect. The city of Essaouira was built in the late 1700's as an international trading post between Saharan Africa and Europe. The port area was incredible. If it hadn't been for the strong odor of fish, I would have hung out there every day.

Monday, June 30, 2014. France with Mémé Honeybee. Debbie came to visit from Birmingham, UK while living there for her annual 6 months. She came bearing lots of gifts! Here's a blurry picture of Méme Honeybee and Colin hanging out. Thursday, we took a bike ride around our town and played at the park. She loved the zip lines there. We decided on Friday to go to France and within 24 hours we had a car rented, a motel, an itinerary with maps, snacks, packed bags, and a taste for exploring! We attempted to ge...

Friday, March 29, 2013. The Birth of Our Son Colin. Our beautiful baby boy, Colin Campbell Beck, was born at 38 weeks and 2 days on March 25, 2013. This is the story of his amazing birth as told by his mother. Wow! I am writing this very honestly and frankly because I want to remember all of the details. If you don't like bloody details or pictures involving blood, do not continue reading. Heather suggested that I get on all fours because that position was better for helping baby out, so I did. He was co...

North-East-South-West.: January 2014
http://frecklesandatan.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 30, 2014. We had our first date in over 3 months. Traveling so much with a baby really messes their sleeping up and on top of jet lag, Colin started teething. He is finally sleeping a bit better and isn't so winey so we started leaving him with a babysitter again. We went ice skating and it was so great to just let loose and have fun again. The hot chocolate and whipped cream wasn't bad either. Colin got a winter pixie hat and it is too much! He also looks really cute naked. Hee hee.

Castles in the Sky: SHIRLEY, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!
http://skyecastles.blogspot.com/2010/11/shirley-you-cant-be-serious.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. SHIRLEY, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS! Justice and I got to have a little mom-son date tonight so I took him out for mocktails and dinner. We had a good time. I even got him to ask our waitress what the. Played along. I wish I had written down some of the funny things he said today. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff, but it's like he's from a different generation sometimes. Some of the highlights from today were when he found his. November 27, 2010 at 11:08 PM.
