Robot Retina: March 2012

http://www.robotretina.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Exploring Photography and Inspiration Where Photons Meet Electrons; at the Robot Retina. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Memories We Never Had. What do you do with old photos? I have quite a few in all kinds of condition; stuck in paper bags, plastic bins, stuck between the pages of books in the hope of flattening them out. I've been meaning to get all the "really good ones" scanned in and digitally cleaned up or repaired. Somehow other things always become more important. Antonio and Margarita Perez. Several ...

Robot Retina: February 2012

http://www.robotretina.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Exploring Photography and Inspiration Where Photons Meet Electrons; at the Robot Retina. Friday, February 24, 2012. This is about several firsts for me. This is the first post on my first photo blog; I have thought about doing this for several years and I finally just did it. This is the first blog I've written that isn't primarily about politics. And the picture below is the first picture that I ever sold. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Marion, New York, United States. One to the fourth.

Robot Retina: The One That Got Away

http://www.robotretina.blogspot.com/2012/03/one-that-got-away.html

Exploring Photography and Inspiration Where Photons Meet Electrons; at the Robot Retina. Monday, March 5, 2012. The One That Got Away. There's a picture I can see in my mind as clearly as if it were right in front of me. It was the shot of a lifetime. But I'll never have a print; it will never be on this blog; nobody will ever "ooh and ahh" over it. I think about this picture every time I pick up my camera. It was a perfect picture. I can still see it as clearly as if it were right in front of me.

Robot Retina: Dreaming of Summer

http://www.robotretina.blogspot.com/2012/03/dreaming-of-summer.html

Exploring Photography and Inspiration Where Photons Meet Electrons; at the Robot Retina. Tuesday, March 6, 2012. But longing for summer attire made me think of a summer afternoon several years ago when my wife and I made the forty minute ride from our house to Canandaigua, NY. This one is one of my favorites. The colors are vibrant in the bright sun light, the water is not so smooth as to lose all visual interest and the sky. That sky! Picture makes you want to be there. 3/7/12, 7:53 AM. 3/7/12, 9:03 PM.

THE FULCRUM: Taking To The Streets?

http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2010/08/taking-to-streets.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Wednesday, August 04, 2010. Taking To The Streets? By Bill McKibben is worth the read. Why aren't more people enraged by the lack of progress on Global Warming? McKibben lays out 3 things that need to be done to move forward in a meaningful way on what is literally a life and death issue. One of those things is that we're going to have to get loud; we may have to get arrested. His last paragraph:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

THE FULCRUM: 01/01/2012 - 02/01/2012

http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Dick Tufeld with The Robot. I remember rushing home from school in the late 60's so that I could catch "Lost in Space". On the local UHF TV station. The early episodes were in black and white and the later ones were in the gaudy, over-saturated colors of the 1960's. That was the long way to get to the point that I just found out that the voice of the robot, Dick Tufeld. Danger, Will Robinson! Farewell, Dick Tufeld. Farewell, Robot.

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Tuesday, February 07, 2012. Millions Pushed Into Child Labor in US. Of the headline right off of the MSNBC site; but given Newt's recent comments and the general hatred on the right for any kind of social contract it could be true some day here as well. The real headline: " Millions pushed into child labor in Pakistan. And if you think it sounds Dickensian, well. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Monday, March 19, 2012. The media, especially those who claim to be experts in financial matters, like to say that the markets don't like "uncertainty," I think they are wrong. Some investors don't like uncertainty, but that creates opportunities for other investors. All-in-all, as usual, the big players win. The rest of us? We are the ones who really. We are left with uncertainty. As a microcosm of that take my wife and I. You want to talk about uncertainty?

THE FULCRUM: Life Aint Fair

http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2012/01/life-aint-fair.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Friday, January 27, 2012. Conservatives are upset at the number of references to "fair" in the SOTU speech. "Life's not fair! They claim. On that very narrow point, I agree with them. But here's where their argument falls apart. When only the government has the resources to reach all of those in need, even then their feeding of a hungry child is evil? The height of irony is that most of the hardcore conservatives I know are far, far from what I consider the st...

THE FULCRUM: My Creative Side

http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2012/03/my-creative-side.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Friday, March 09, 2012. If you've visited here for long enough you know that I've occasionally posted photographs. Photography has become quite important in my life; maybe someday I'll make a business of it. But for now, I do it for fun, for relaxation and to scratch that creative "itch" I've had all my life. In any case, go visit my new photo blog, it's called Robot Retina. You will do it much better for fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alas, a Blog.

THE FULCRUM: Let's Try This Again...

http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2012/01/lets-try-this-again.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Friday, January 27, 2012. Let's Try This Again. News of my demise is greatly. The last time I wrote an "I'm back! Post, I really thought I'd be able to keep up with The Fulcrum again. The job I found, and worked at for nearly a year and a half, wound up taking almost literally all of my time. Working 10 hour days was common; weekends too. Even holidays were not safe from it's reach. Let's see how it goes! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Alas, a Blog.

THE FULCRUM: Religious Right?

http://thefulcrum.blogspot.com/2012/09/religious-right.html

Tilting the world a little more to the left. Thursday, September 13, 2012. So how did that all go so wrong? The Republican Party has become the party of the white, wealthy elite; that is self obvious. And yet, through the tactics I mentioned above they have captured the reactionary religious factions of the deep south and in a fair bit of the rest of the country. Getting these folks to consistently vote against their own and their children's best interests. But why? And it scares the hell out of me.

Friday, February 22, 2008. Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles Episode 5 Review. Since I started this blog, late in the game, we're up to episode 5 already, but I have started this series dilligantly from the beginning, and it is getting better. I won't review the first four shows, but its getting good. I will make a prediction now: Charley Dixon is Kyle Reese's father. Don't ask me why, but if he turns out to be, I think that will be really cool. Get the full scoop at VARIETY.
