The screw eyes not only attach the bird but also act as a guide for the mechanical strings. They guide the threads along the bottom of the rod to where the puppeteer would holding it to allow for easy access to manipulation of the puppet. All That Life Has to Offer. Wednesday, October 5, 2011. It's 11 am, here in Kiev, Ukraine and I wanted to say hi! Because last year when traveling around Ukraine, the tickets were on the day before we traveled, and my mom and I had to share a place to sleep on a traine, bleh! The taxi was 53 Griven, but the taxi driver would have charged probably 200 griven if it was I, an American, that ordered it. The currency right now is 8 griven to 1 dollar. I am so so excited to be here, and Ukraine is so wonderful!
