I meant just to cycle to Castle Junction along the Bow Valley Parkway…but went a little bit further than I meant to. It’s a warm June evening and it’s busy in the town of Banff. There’s a breeze blowing through the trees, strong enough that you can hear it. I’ve spent most of the day travelling about in Banff and Yoho National Parks, so it’s nice to spend some time outside now. The trail going up. Windswept trees (Krummholz) near the top. From the trailhead at the parking lot you climb through montane forest and up into the subalpine. Being spring there were a lot of flowers opening out, and the first floor was scattered with different colours. Views through the trees. On the way up to the cirque.
