Their primary goal is to provide daily practical and therapeutic assistance to children and youth in their life-space. Helping with the preparation of meals. Preston Morgan. At the beginning 2014 the management team had a two day workshop to review our service and develop an organizational development plan. We had an overall review of all the programs and documentation to ensure that we are aligned to the generating standards of the children’s act 38 of 2005.

The East London Child and Youth Care Centre (ELCYCC) has a long and proud history in East London. In existence since 1924, emphasis was placed on custodial care in the early years, focusing on feeding, clothing, educating and housing war orphans. The original home was Malcomess House, a large residential house in Southernwood which was run as a large institution, as all children’s welfare homes were in those days.
