SIR ROCKY ROOK: Day 7
http://sirrockyrook.blogspot.com/2007/07/day-7.html
Wednesday, July 04, 2007. The remainder of the 300's and up to around 460 were fairly easy to somewhat tough. The last 40 or so problems were tough. I'm planning on going back (after I'm done with this quest) and pound those last 40 or so in my head. 3 days to go! They'll be the toughest. Good luck in this home stretch! http://sirrockyrook.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Level 60 Problems and Circle One Complete. I finished today at lunch . all 1,039 problems (no, not all at once). The average time it took me to complete each problem was about the same as Level 50. I've been doing about 20 a day for a while. The next phase . practice and practice and practice each level until I consistently score a 90%. This could take a while. Links to this post. Thursday, October 12, 2006. Level 50 Problems Complete. Obviously they are getting more complex.

SIR ROCKY ROOK: March 2007
http://sirrockyrook.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2007. I've heard it before that CT-ART has its flaws. To be honest, I haven't noticed that many. For the most part I am satisfied with the explanation given. But I came across #379 tonight and I'm not sure I agree with the explanation. Number 379 is from an actual game ( Rashid Gibiatovich Nezhmetdinov vs Vladimir D Sergievsky, 1966. The game ends with 20. Rxf6 gxf6 1-0 (see below). Links to this post. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Links to this post. Monday, March 26, 2007. Currently I've...

SIR ROCKY ROOK: May 2007
http://sirrockyrook.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 30, 2007. This is Really Pathetic! I've not done any tactics in a while. Things keep popping up (kids sick or I'm sick or work-related stuff) or I end up playing on FICS rather than studying tactics. Additionally, I feel that I will never really be satisfied with my tactical studies and that they might continue for years and years (as they should). Who did 500 tactics in 30 days. I'm essentially going to follow his schedule from Circle 2 to Circle 5. More importantly, yet another reason to...

7th Rank: Does it work or does it not?
http://7thrank.blogspot.com/2014/07/does-it-work-or-does-it-not.html
Sunday, July 20, 2014. Does it work or does it not? On this blog, I will be posting interesting things about chess, interesting details of my students and all I want to talk about chess. My 1st post is about one of my students. He missed basic backrank mates.Read below. What was the reason? I did research on the learning methods of chess. What was important to reduce blunders? What was important to slow down the really fast players? His rating still slided. He had a couple of tournaments where he had...

7th Rank: Q vs 2P endgame puzzle
http://7thrank.blogspot.com/2014/11/q-vs-2p-endgame-puzzle.html
Thursday, November 13, 2014. Q vs 2P endgame puzzle. Black to move, who wins? Based on the natural assumption that a Queen is better than 2 pawns, white has the psychological edge. Sure? We will discuss in the comments section. This is a 1500 rated problem. November 14, 2014 at 12:17 PM. I am afraid every move wins for white. My solution is Queen h2 and then the Kc4 - f4. Black can only wait and die, I think there is nothing to think. November 14, 2014 at 4:40 PM. Kc4 to f4 is the key, you got it right.

KnightVision Chess Test Blog. A blog for testing KnightVision Chess. Sunday, October 28, 2007. Blitz and Circles Update. I just played a few ICC blitz games.
