They are surprisingly beautiful. I hadn't ever noticed the cholla (jumping cactus) flower before, at least that I remember. I thought it was truly lovely. I am in awe of our kids. Those will have to wait for a little while though, because I just Have to post about our arrival and Thanksgiving celebration at home in Mesa. Can I just state for the record that we LOVE. Monday, July 20, 2015. A handsome man gave me these beautiful roses! I have received a bouquet every June 30th for 36 years! Of course, the number of roses increases every year. The first few years (or maybe more than a few) I was always surprised and would wonder what the occasion was. Now, I remember our anniversary all on my own.usually. (we reverse the stereotype quite often). We also had our (hopefully) annual family camping trip. I think there were bad guys being decimated here. Dad gets a rest.

Friday, June 19, 2015. Another week, another expedition! Daughter-in-law went to girl's camp so we covered for her for 3 days. We had a great time with our grand daughters and kept them busy. or maybe they kept us busy. Either way it was fun. There are no photos but we had a great time swimming and were impressed with their skills. We made 'slime' with glue and borax. We also made clay. The mermaid got sleepy as you can see. I am so impressed with their creativity. What is wrong with an early Halloween?

Sunday, July 27, 2014. I love having counter space and room in the kitchen to move around. We even eat in there. It keeps the food mess more confined, plus I can reach the fridge without getting up. We are very comfortable here. The park has this cool lite house. There was a whole flock of birds but by the time I took the photo only a couple were left.
