Life is full of ups and downs. - Anon. We live in the foothills of the south-western end of the Cotswolds. Sometimes called the "Heart of England", this vast range of hills extends from Oxford to Bath sometimes reaching a height of over 300 metres or 1000 feet. The highest point in the Cotswolds is Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham at 330 metres/1083 feet. The Cotswolds were designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1966. North America and Canada.

While the Beaufort is by no means the nearest pub to home it is the one that I consider my local. The Grade 2 listed building is believed to date from 1602 and has two bars, a dining room and a skittle alley which doubles as a function room. The Beaufort Arms, Hawkesbury Upton, South Glos. I was born a Bristolian but time and circumstances have deprived me of most of the accent. We are most fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country. We have the Cotswold and Mendip Hills and the historic cities of Bristol and Bath on our doorstep. We both enjoy visiting historic an prehistoric sites and we have a wealth of these within a short distance Since we are both great fans of real ale we do appreciate the large selection of excellent pubs. The whole universe is just mind blowing yet most of us are so engrossed in the fundamentals of just surviving that most of the sheer wonder passes us by.
