Adventures in throwing money away. Thursday, April 05, 2012. Donington - bit of a disappointment. A stoppage in the middle of qualifying meant I got no decent laps in, and ended up way, way down the grid in 18th place. Then, come the race, we make it through just one corner before a pileup finds Martin Kay concertinaed into my pristine rear end. Car was OK to drive, so I rejoined, but couldn't achieve better than 12th place from there. You can see both incidents on this video. Monday, March 26, 2012.

Team Ixion Race Report. Bike: Aprilia 1000 Mille. Date: 27th/28th October 2001. Woohoo, end of the season. Time for a last spin round the leafy glades of the South East's premier circuit, before retiring to a winter of supping mulled wine in front of a roaring log fire. Or something. Without even getting on the track, and the time before was the last time I rode my TZ before deciding I had to sell it. Saturday Bemsee Supertwins Race One. And I nearly caught up with Daz Jones. Ah - that's more like it!

Aprilia RSV 1000 Mille R. I'd decided to change class for the remainder of the year. The choice was between a GSXR1000 and an Aprilia Mille. For various reasons - and after riding both a Mille and a GSXR750 (pretty similar in size, shape and style to the 1000), I decided on the Mille. Here's some brief specs. 60 degree vertical twin (Harley style). 135hp at crank with race exhaust (120 at the wheel). Ohlins rear shock, titanium nitride forks and steering damper. Oz Racing lightweight alloy wheels.

Team Ixion Race Report. Bike: DiamondBack Topanga 21-speed. Track: Brands Hatch Paddock Entrance. Oh great. This time I managed to have a major crash and put myself out of commission for the weekend without even sitting on the race bike. How? One minute I'm on the bike, next I'm picking myself up off the floor and wondering what's leaking, as there's water coming from somewhere and pouring down my face. Dark red warm water. Ah.
