Poems by Roger Turner. Saturday, 26 July 2008. August, and once again we find ourselves. Trapped and encircled by these steep-edged hills. We are dying, as the airless heat fills. The bowl upto the brim. The lime trees heave. A sigh of utter weariness. No one. Moves The whole town's an elegant middle-. Aged woman suffocated with pillows,. Laid out like death. Drops of perspiration. Ooze into pools at the roots of the hair. I sit, motionless, hunched in a langour. Of directionlessness as I swelter. To hes...

Poems by Roger Turner: The Assassins

http://rogertpoetry.blogspot.com/2008/07/assassins.html

Poems by Roger Turner. Saturday, 26 July 2008. There’s always one man who cannot be persuaded,. One man who won’t listen,. Who quickly disappears into the crowd,. Leaving you slumped and bleeding. On the palace steps. And so it was, when they sent out six assassins,. Men of the worst type,. More like brutes than men. To the first - a huge hulk of a man. With an evil scar upon his face -. I said, I am a good man,. Not a perfect man, I admit, but all things considered,. And quietly walked from the room.

Poems by Roger Turner. Saturday, 26 July 2008. At the Cafe San Marco. 8216;And all the dishes were Lalique - ’. Being as usual quite banal - ’. 8216;But both of them, my dear,. Within a week, dead as a dogfish. In the Grand Canal.’. 8216;Ever the sexual parasite - ’. Imploring, much the worse for beer,. Swearing he’d marry Gladys out of spite -. And now’s he’s gone quite ga-ga,. Poor old dear.’. And in its own lagoon of light. Still glitters like eternity,. Fades in a deep pink sunset every night.

Elcome to my gallery of photographs. Originally I used 35mm film and and a Nikon camera - long ago now - and have since converted to digital, again with Nikon cameras. My LRPS. Panel was achieved whilst still using 35mm photographs - mostly using colour slides and even one from a negative which were then scanned - there is link above, go on click on it to view this panel. I've added two new pages - a page full of COLOUR. And some photos taken at the Notting Hill Carnival. Click on the mailbox to email me.
