Every Other Writer Has a Blog…Why Can't I? THE LITERARY MUSINGS OF A GRUMPY BULLDOG! September 30, 2011. Friday Flix: Breaking Up. And really it would make sense because the comics took place in two different eras, the ’40s and then the ’60s. They didn’t do everything in a couple of issues, right? Well sure there probably will be a sequel eventually (I think it performed well enough for that) but it’ll be after the Avengers movie, which is a bit too little, too late to me. In writing sometimes the questi...

Every Other Writer Has a Blog…Why Can't I? THE LITERARY MUSINGS OF A GRUMPY BULLDOG! Friday Flix: A Stitch of Plan 9. October 7, 2011. It would be interesting if Ed Wood were transported into the modern world. With the cheapness of computer effects, he could probably get a ten-picture deal with Syfy to make terrible movies about Super Piranha vs. Mega Shark Squid or whatever. Or he could get some great cat videos posted on YouTube and become an Internet sensation. From → Uncategorized. Aw, crap. I kn...

Grumpy Bulldog's Blog: January 2012

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The Most Influential Author. If I asked who you think is the most influential author ever, you'd probably say Shakespeare or Jane Austen or someone like that. Actually I'd say it's a guy who wrote a bunch of books in the late 19th Century, but only one anyone now days remembers. That guy would be Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula. The Vampire Diaries, Interview With the Vampire. Etc etc. ad nauseum- all stems from that one book that came out at the end of the 19th Century.

Saturday, December 31, 2011. Movies That Didn't Suck: 2011. This post brought to you by Grumpy Bulldog Movie Reviews. Lights, Camera, P-Yoo! We need a better slogan! It should be noted I don't do a lot of movie reviews. There were no 4-star movie reviews this year. There were probably 4-star movies but I just didn't feel like reviewing them. So, here are two 3.5 star movies! It's Kind of A Funny Story. If I'd bothered writing a review I'd probably have given "Super 8" 3.5 stars. Wow, that's it? That woul...

Monday, May 4, 2015. Andrew Leon and the Case of the Missing Blog Entry. Wow, some people really do not want the truth about Andrew Leon to get out. See, for over a month now Andrew Leon has been smearing me on his blog. Just a great big coincidence. And just over an hour later the article is deleted and I'm deleted as a contributor of the site. Weird, isn't it? Another great big coincidence. You might say, "Well you were writing a smear piece! Delete it. Then lie about deleting it. Of course there aren'...

That… or that… or whatever.”. For those of us old enough to remember Reagan’s candidacy, trickle-down economics was an agreement; we would cut taxes on the wealthiest, who would then re-invest in the community, i.e., the money would trickle back down. Since the 1980s, 80% of all income has gone to the wealthie...Does it make se...

Grumpy Bulldog's Blog: Another Attempted Query
http://grumpybulldog.blogspot.com/2012/03/another-attempted-query.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2012. I was out walking this afternoon and started compiling thoughts for how to do a query for my book, "Chance of a Lifetime." I was ready to self-pub it at the start of the year but now that I'm getting one book actually published, maybe I'll have better luck with agents, right? Anyway, here it is:. March 28, 2012. New York, NY. Detective Steve Fischer is as hard-nosed, hard-drinking, and hard-boiled a cop as there’s ever been. Steve’s estranged daughter Madison. Im assuming you w...

Friday, October 7, 2011. Welcome to My New Slush Pile! Most everything I have completed has been published. But there are still a few that have not and most likely won't be. The novels are broken into chapters to make them easy to read. So feel free to poke around my slush pile for something you might like. A couple of ground rules:. This is not a site for critiquing. Some of these stories were written over fifteen years ago so there's no sense in wasting your time or mine with a critique.
Grumpy Bulldog FanFic Collection
Grumpy Bulldog FanFic Collection. E mërkurë, 13 qershor 2012. Generally speaking, I believe fan fiction to be a lower, vulgar art form. Yet sometimes I enjoy engaging in it in-between more serious projects. It's campy fun that can keep the writing muscles in shape without taxing the brain. Sure you can't legally make money off them, but who wants to write for profit all the time anyway? OK, me too, but.). The links are on the right side. Please enjoy all those juicy tidbits of fanfic. Divine War, Part I.
Rebirth: The Oracle
Tuesday, June 12, 2012. This was supposed to be the start of an epic space opera trilogy but it never really got to that point. Mostly I lost interest after the first one. Anyway, in this story a group of explorers venture outside our Solar System to a planet capable of being transformed into a new colony. But when the crew gets there they soon run across another ship full of unfriendly aliens. The human ship is destroyed, leaving the survivors stranded and fighting for their lives.
Star Wars: Return to Tatooine
Star Wars: Return to Tatooine. A 45,000-word Star Wars fanfic. Not associated with Lucasfilm or any of that- obviously. They could probably sue me, but don't they have better things to do? Like coming out with the Special-Special-Special Edition of the original (aka the good) movies? E mërkurë, 13 qershor 2012. A special note is that this was written before the bloody awful prequels so if some of the continuity doesn't jive with that it's because they didn't exist yet- and we were all better off.
Transformers: Xenophobia
You'd think that, wouldn't you. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. This was written in 1997 and the culmination of a few factors:. I was going to college for a business degree so I didn't have mental energy for another serious project and I was burnt-out from the epic First Contact series. Transformers were having a renaissance thanks to the success of the "Beast Wars" line of toys and cutting-edge computer-animated TV show, the first season of which is pretty good. Please enjoy "Transformers: Xenophobia.".
