The historic Giant Dipper roller coaster at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz dates back to 1924 when Arthur Looff constructed the ride in just 47 days. Designed by Frank Prior and Frederick Church, the Giant Dipper is a 2,640 foot long "double out and back" woodie with a 65-foot drop. Sunday, December 19, 2010. Waldameer And Water World. In 2008 Waldameer Park created the Ravine Flyer II and it was a exciting and very fun ride! When Roller Coasters Monthly rode the coaster we had almost fainted at how fast it was! We would like to honor waldameer for there ride and all rides that come in the future. We hope to have a fun next summer with Waldameer and many other coasters at many other parks including Waldameer! Thank you so much for bringing a Bigger, Better, Coaster to this park!
