Complete Battlestar Revamp – The Octopus Gallery
http://www.octopusgallery.net/2015/07/15/complete-battlestar-revamp
July 15, 2015. January 3, 2016. My oldest large fish tank is the Battlestar Aquaria. When we moved into our current home, I decided to go with a soil substrate covered in a clay gravel and have pretty much stuck with that for the last 8 or so years. There was a revamp when the tank got broken by flooring installers about 6 years ago, but I just moved everything to a new tank. Moving tanks is a good time to get a fish headcount, especially in a heavily planted tank. I was thrilled. All told, I’m pre...

The Great Soay Road Trip – The Octopus Gallery
http://www.octopusgallery.net/2015/07/20/the-great-soay-road-trip
The Great Soay Road Trip. July 20, 2015. August 18, 2015. My awesome friend Andrea. Is switching her ruminant herd over from dairy goats to fiber sheep and discovered that there was a really cool Neolithic sheep breed, Soay Sheep. When we arrived, we first got to meet the owner’s majestic floofs (AKA Samoyed dogs). They were a lovely pink thanks to the marvelous red dirt of North Carolina. Then we got to meet the rams. The lambs were pretty sure we were horrible sheep eaters. A very successful trip!

Vestigial Tail: The difference an (almost) year makes
http://vestigialtail.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-difference-almost-year-makes.html
If only we could wag it. Saturday, November 10, 2012. The difference an (almost) year makes. I stopped by ARLP. S adoption day today because I just had to finally meet the puppies. I saw them at a distance when they first came in to our program, but hadn't seen them since. What a wiggly bunch of joy they are (and currently up for adoption. Should you be interested)! I especially like the ferret distraction, but that could be because I like torturing the Rottweiler. Who's dog is that? Suzy Q's CACC mugshot.

Vestigial Tail: Weather or not...
http://vestigialtail.blogspot.com/2012/11/weather-or-not.html
If only we could wag it. Monday, November 12, 2012. Never too cold to hang loose. Though this IS just lap 1 of 2 around the lake :). This morning we woke up to a yard covered with snow. What? From almost 70 to snow in 48 hours. To make matters worse, I managed to hit a whiteout snow squall this morning on the way to work. Way to early in the season to be dealing with such things! I'm just hoping and praying after our super great mild winter last year, we don't see another winter like 2010-2011.

If only we could wag it. Sunday, November 11, 2012. Just a quick blog tonight to say thank you to all of our active duty military personnel and our armed forces veterans. I hope we can continue to be worthy of your sacrifice. A special shout out to my dad, a Vietnam War Army vet. I miss you , Papa. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Annie & Paul's World: Woopps! We disappeared!
http://annienpaulsworld.blogspot.com/2014/07/woopps-we-disappeared.html
Annie and Pauls World. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Wow, yea, we disappeared there. The last post on the blog is March 17th. Where the heck have we been? On a long strange trip, that's defiantly not as cool as the Grateful Dead would have you believe. The rest of March dealing with the after effects of this: soar back, bruised ribs, stitch removal, and dealing with an idiot neurologist. The steps defiantly won that round. Luckily, the Hubbs glasses were ok. Annie and Pauls Mom. July 31, 2014 at 10:02 AM.

Vestigial Tail: Angels among us
http://vestigialtail.blogspot.com/2012/11/angels-among-us.html
If only we could wag it. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Enter Kim. Kim is my coworker, and lucky for me, also has a soft spot for seniors. She also happens to be an approved dog foster for Pet Project Rescue. With no current foster at the time. All she needed was a dog sitter over Thanksgiving and she'd be able to foster. Deal! How could I say no? Charlie (top) and Lovey (bottom). Photo by Kim. Sweet Charlie. Photo by Kim. November 13, 2012 at 8:23 PM. Aw, poor Charlie. Good for Kim! The story of Juarez.
