Aggrey arrived after breakfast all ready to take us to the Cattle Market. Taxi to Luanda village and then a walk down the road 20minutes to the saleyards - bit different to what Deane is used to in NZ I can tell you! Anyway same principles, but we went past the sale has and sat in front of a shop while Aggrey and Simon went to check out the prices and do some negotiations for half an hour. Goats were not a good option and they thought it was weird milking a goat and selling it! View my complete profile.

After the 2 hour walk home from the saleyards, the men and cattle arrived safely. Water from the borehole and grass chopped up will need to be collected every day so that the cattle keep well fed and healthy. Deane talked to Aggrey and encouraged him to concentrate the feed in one small area, since the feed is not plentiful they needed to have it one small area that would not get trampled or crapped on. Tanzania - Home Early. We were up at 5am to catch the bus, and thankfully leave the Backpackers! After a ferry ride to cross back on to the mainland we headed for the border and into Tanzania. 13hours later the bus arrived in Dar Es Salem - our driver was hijacked, we were kidnapped and held hostage, locked in a car with 3 men demanding Money and threatening our lives, if we didn't give them what they wanted they would shoot us! After another 12 hours in Dubai airport and countless hassles getting flights, we finally boarded a flight to Auckland via Melbourne, arriving safely Sunday afternoon and being picked up at the airport by the Director and others from SIM NZ. We are so thankful to everyone for their prayers, we truly experienced Gods peace and providence over our lives. We know our lives have been spared and we praise God for the many blessings received even during this traumatic experience. We are now recovering at home.

Start of the Seka Family Mission. Well it wasn't easy for us to spot the Seka family at the bus terminal but it was very easy for the Seka's to spot us! The only muzungu's (white people) in the place. It was great to finally meet Stanley's family and they were happy to see us and excited to be on their way back to the family village (Luanda is their village where all the extended families live). Kibara Slum - Nairobi. Ken drove us past the Nairobi slum which covers approx. 500acres and houses around 2,000,000 people. This is the largest slum in the whole of Africa. Bus Nairobi to Mombasa. Oh no, not another bus trip! Today we got on a another bus, it was a local bus, 5 seats across and no room to move SO we got off it again, there were a few upset Kenyans but the thought of being crammed and squashed for 20minutes is one thing, being crammed and squashed for 9 hours is another thing! Bye to Alex and Simon and Mombasa. It was so great to experience the excitement on Alex and Simon's faces as they saw and did many things for the first time. They got to fly with us from Uganda to Kenya for their first time on a plane. They got to drive through the Great Rift Valley. They visited Nairobi and Mombasa, kenya. They got to ride in a tuk tuk . They got to ride the waves on a African catamaran, they were not quite sure of it and when we hit a tiny wave alex stood up and wanted to get out!
