Litany Prayers from The Downtown Chapel. Thursday, June 25, 2009. Response: SAVE US O GOD. From the brutality of murder and violence…. From the hardship of poverty and loss…. From the addiction of drugs and alcohol…. From the fear of isolation and hardship…. From the evil of war and hatred………. From the corruption of sin and darkness…. From the terror of gunshots and stabbings…. From the suffering of illness and disease…. From the coldness of loneliness and self-pity…. And from all evil…. View my complete...

Litany Prayers from The Downtown Chapel: Litany: Triumph of the Holy Cross
http://litanyonthemargins.blogspot.com/2009/06/litany-triumph-of-holy-cross.html
Litany Prayers from The Downtown Chapel. Thursday, June 25, 2009. Litany: Triumph of the Holy Cross. Sung Response: “Redeem us, O God”. We lift up our lives through the Holy Cross of Christ …. We lift up our sorrow through the Holy Cross of Christ…. Protect us when we cling to revenge and violence…. Transform us when hatred overtakes our actions…. Teach us when we jump to false conclusions…. Lead us when we are afraid to follow…. Inspire us when we fear our own talents…. Weep for us when sorrow blankets ...

Casa Pax + Kid Pax: We interrupt our previously-scheduled chaos...
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2009/06/we-interrupt-our-previously-scheduled.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Monday, June 29, 2009. We interrupt our previously-scheduled chaos. And then we came home, and saw the deer as we pulled in to the driveway. Such a different pace of life, and one that's increasingly attractive. We drove by housing developments with prices starting "in the low 100s". Substitute the "1" for a "3" and you'd have Oregon. And maybe for a "high 400s" - and it'd be San Jose.

Casa Pax + Kid Pax: January 2009
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Friday, January 2, 2009. Be it resolved that. I don't generally do New Year's resolutions. The turn of the year is simply a day, and its primary significance relates to my relationship with the IRS, really. Do I have enough deductions? Do I have my papers ready for the annual "pizza and Tax Cut Pro" evening with the kid's godfather? Long Boring. Sorry. If I don't start posting mileage, bi...For n...

Casa Pax + Kid Pax: July 2008
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Dance along the edge. It's our last night in Guadalajara. Kid's sleeping, and I'm doing anything I can to avoid packing for the 7-hour bus trip back to Mexico City tomorrow. Email - how often can I check it? Oh - must unpack the egregiously-priced laundry the hotel dropped off today while we were out. My nails need trimming. OH WAIT - I can take antibiotics! Feeling brave ...

Casa Pax + Kid Pax: April 2008
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Friday, April 25, 2008. T Minus 52 days. Sabbatical's coming up, and when I told someone at work today that it started in "about seven weeks", I was castigated for not knowing the exact day count. So I counted - and it's 52 days. Casa Pax + Kid Pax: And So It Is
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2009/08/and-so-it-is.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Tuesday, August 4, 2009. And So It Is. I find myself in San Jose - or rather, Not In Mexico. Trying to parse out everything right now, and keep tripping into Concrete Blonde territory:. If I tried my very best. You know I never could say anything. In twenty words or less. Or now, in the age of twitter, 140 characters or less. Same diff. So I'm writing it out here, not on Facebook. I do know that ...

Casa Pax + Kid Pax: August 2011
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Saturday, August 13, 2011. Is this thing on? I've not written or posted here in ages, obviously. Work and life are keeping me more than busy enough, and then there's school. I reread some earlier posts, and noted that when last I wrote, I was still contemplating whether to consider taking a class. Now I'm enrolled and pursuing a degree. (Yes. Another one.). Casa Pax + Kid Pax: Settling on being unsettled
http://casapax.blogspot.com/2009/08/settling-on-being-unsettled.html
Casa Pax Kid Pax. A random experiment, expermental randomness, or some such thing. Just like everything else. Saturday, August 22, 2009. Settling on being unsettled. All of which is a long way of saying "I have no clue where we'll be in a year." Honestly - there's about a 25% chance it'll be Portland, 25% chance it'll be San Jose, 25% chance it'll be Mexico - maybe Guadalajara, maybe Mexico City - and then another 25% chance it'll be an undisclosed location, NOT.
