Making an Oracle developer's life easier! 10 6 = 15 : On working with large numbers. An application I was working on had several tables with columns defined as a NUMBER(16,6). As we all know, this defines a numeric column as having 16 digits in total, of which 6 decimals. It also means the value can not grow beyond 10 digits. So in a NUMBER(16,6) column, the maximum value is 9999999999.999999. So, if we insert a value of 1234567890.123456, we expect this to succeed. Lets setup a testcase. How can this be?
