First thing came a power outage after three passes of the hair clippers over Doug's head in the early morning sunshine. Thankfully, the generator hadn't been moved to Nairobi just yet. Doug went down to our neighbors where he finished up the plumbing system he designed with them for their new house. Its a basic hook-up to the public water pipe.

Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Ciara and I celebrated our birthday's by going to Monterey for the weekend. We spent a whole day at the aquarium and even though it was very crowded we still got to be amazed by all the exhibits. It wore Fiona out so much she fell asleep eating her dinner. The rest of the time we spent playing on the beach and even went in swimming, we were a bit lazy about taking the camera out and have no picturres to prove it.
