Or that we can use as substitute for green papaya or sayote in a tinola. You will never believe this. You will never, ever, ever believe this. Check out the Wikipedia article. But yeah, apparently it's known by many other names such as bottle gourd, opo squash or long melon. I became really, really curious because we've been cooking tinola.

I just know it's a Spanish word. Today, I attended Japanese language lessons and we were in a conversation about favorite fruits. One of the Indian students asked me if I know the fruit called sapota. Which could explain what it is. But when I looked up both Japanese and English dictionaries I had, there was no word like sapota.

I must stress though that is just an idea! Wishful thinking, if you want to call it. But it's certainly not a prediction. :D.
