Within 6 years, the number of people who became unemployed went up 5,450,000 as illustrated below. Since Beer Hall Putsch failed in 1923, Hitler’s game plan changed. He began following the rules of democracy. He tried to overthrow the young democracy by force; however, that did not happen quite as he had hoped. 1,320,000 People. 3,000,000 People.

The start of the Great Depression. How Germany was effected. The Beginning of it all. The Start of the Great Depression. The big thing that started The Great Depression was when the stock market crashed on Wall Street on Tuesday, October 29, 1929. Financial markets worldwide were sent into a tailspin. The German economy was especially weak. It was built on foreign capital, mostly loans from America, and really dependent on foreign trade. All the money people had saved was gone, wiped out.
