Room 5 Halcombe School. Friday, 26 August 2011. We have been learnng to represent Winter in a creative way. This was partly because of the recent snow in Halcombe, but also because it was a fun activity and a way to learn some new skills in art. Firstly we put a few black dots onto a piece of paper. Next we covered it all in white dots. Finally we blew Indian Ink through a straw to represent a bush in the middle of winter. Thanks Juliet and Cara for writing our blog post. Room 5 Halcombe School. Thursday, 8 September 2011. We have been learning to be creative with our hands! We have been learning to make a 'Squidgy Stuffed Face' as part of our learning about how we can be CREATIVE. Most of us have never sewn anything before, but we were happy to try something new. We have learnt to cut fabric, thread a needle, tie knots in cotton, make stitches, gather material, use batting and create a character. We had to work together and help each other to do the tricky parts.
