Since visiting in the first half of this year, The Neighbourhood has been one of my favourite studios, not just in Manchester but also, in the country. This was due to their relaxed atmosphere, their friendly demeanour as well as their professional attitude towards the work that they produce. As this was my first attempt at a showreel, i knew that their would be much room for improvement and so, i never feel disheartened when people criticise it.

Sunday, 29 August 2010. Following on from Limbo, i decided to look at other things which i remember, things which play with the idea of colour and its use. This game is part of my initial research for the summer project. I downloaded this game without knowing much, or even anything about it. To my surprise, i found this. The use of limited colour and light are something which i find interesting and fascinating. This is a good starting point for my colour research, as well as the style of my own piece.

Wednesday, 20 October 2010. After presenting on Thursday 14th, i had an A4 page of notes which included things that need to be change d within my animation. I was unhappy with the style of and feel of it, and these were things that other people caught upon, thus allowing me to be inundated with ideas of how to improve it/change it so that the style is something that i enjoy. The aim of these changes is to make it more like a graphic novel. Maybe i should do this another time? Tuesday, 5 October 2010.

Thursday, 28 April 2011. From looking around this week, as well as my mother being a super sleuth, I hopefully have two separate opportunities coming my way. The second opportunity is from York and is the possibility to meet up with a guy called Alan Welsman, the European marketing director for Disney. Although i don't know how far this contact could go, I'm still quite excited about the opportunity. Sunday, 24 April 2011. This trailer for portal 2 has humour, action as well as an amazing voice over.

These images are absolutely beautiful, of concept drawings and storyboard drawings. This is hopefully one day what I will be doing. As I've mentioned before my strengths lie in drawing so to be able to look at storyboards from absolute classics is breathtaking for me. I find these images so inspiring. The images from Dumbo second from the top are precious and are masterpieces.
