Many of India’s citizens struggle to get access to basic public goods. Our partner examines how state institutions fail to provide equal access to necessities like healthcare, sanitation and safe working conditions. Poverty forces millions of Indians to migrate from rural areas into cities. They hope for a better life, but find mostly jobs under precarious conditions. Although laws and rules regulating their employment have been strengthened over the last years, domestic workers often remain isolated and at the mercy of their employers. Together with the Montford Social Institute (MSI). RLS encouraged them to take up their struggle together.
