Krista's Garden: September 2008
http://kristasgarden.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2008. As summer comes to an end, the garden is definitely changing. The yellow squash and zucchini are still producing, but my focus will definitely be changing to the "greens" over the next couple of months. Above, I planted this Mesclun mix (Gourmet Greens Mixture) and it looks ready for some pretty salads. The basil plant never got super huge, but it has given me a modest amount of leaves that I've enjoyed cooking with. I was very pleased with my tomatoes! The corn is just about...

petals and thistles: Wow!
http://petalsandthistles.blogspot.com/2011/10/wow.html
Ramblings along the road of life. Saturday, October 1. That's the word that comes to mind when you go outside right now. Wow! Last night was a perfect evening for a walk at Lake Bemidji State Park. Those lights across the lake in the photo below are the football stadium where the Bemidji Lumberjacks were playing their Homecoming game- they won! We thought about going to the game but I'm glad we went for a walk instead! October 1, 2011 at 1:37 PM. Your photos are stunning! October 6, 2011 at 5:13 PM.

petals and thistles: April 2010
http://petalsandthistles.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Ramblings along the road of life. Saturday, April 17. Well, I did it. I put away my turtlenecks. I know. I know what you are thinking.it's a bit early isn't it? After all, it's only April 17th. Well, what can I say, I am a risk-taker! I still have all my scarves out, however, just in case my neck complains too much. So here's the extent of my "spring cleaning" so far. It feels good, doesn't it? And here's the bags of clothes that are going somewhere else to take up space.yah hoo! Links to this post.

petals and thistles: August 2011
http://petalsandthistles.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Ramblings along the road of life. Monday, August 22. I think that is what our kids are yelling lately, at least to themselves. But for me it's more like SAAAAAAAADNEEEEEEESS! Letting go of your kids is one of those thistles in life that ya gotta do but gosh it is painful, mixed in with exciting, and a roller coaster of emotions for this momma. Last week Leanne passed her driver's test. Here she is- one happy girl! I made sure he had a photo of us so he doesn't forget his family :). Nevermind that he's on...

because it matters.: March 2012

Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Women vs. Men. In this post I want to talk about something that is a bit personal to me. It's also something I've struggled with since I can remember. My parents divorced when I was three years old (no, this isn't a sob story about my parent being divorced! I want to be able to go shopping with a girlfriend and try on ridiculous outfits just because we want to! Friday, March 2, 2012. So- I have left the question lingering. what am I going to write about today? I have to admit, ...

pieces of the puzzle: projects waiting
http://500pieces.blogspot.com/2011/06/projects-waiting.html
Pieces of the puzzle. Living the cottage life, Alaskan style. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Do you have problem getting your husband to do projects around the house? Confession: When I get to that point that I'm ready to paint myself. all I have to say is: "I think I'm going to paint the bathroom" and my husband will be on it it just like THAT! Do I actually intend to paint myself? With that said, I am "allowed" to paint outside! We do make a good team. Another project is this old chandelier I found at a garag...

pieces of the puzzle: November 2010
http://500pieces.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Pieces of the puzzle. Living the cottage life, Alaskan style. Sunday, November 7, 2010. I tried it. I tried being semi-old, older, of the senior age. At least that's how I've been feeling lately. I've always highlighted my hair until the last year or so, when I let all the natural grey/silver shine on through. And boy did it shine! And I liked it. I actually loved the color. Until I would see myself in print, then I would wonder who that OLD person was. Seriously. I could not believe I. Links to this post.

My Roots Run Deep: April 2012
http://myrootsrundeep.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
My Roots Run Deep. Friday, April 20, 2012. Three new daffodils are blooming but I don't know what they are. I planted 15 new daffodil bulbs last fall. 5 came in a bag labeled "Variant." 10 came in a bag labeled "Sorcerer." I thought I was planting two varieties of daffodil. Apparently not. Now that spring is here, there are three distinct daffodils in bloom. This small-cupped daffodil could be "Sorcerer." I found only one image of "Sorcerer" online and this comes pretty close. My Roots Run Deep: June 2011
http://myrootsrundeep.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
My Roots Run Deep. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. I am over the moon about my new Emile Debatene peony. Just a few days ago the buds looked ready to burst. I don't have much pink in my garden and thought I didn't care for the colour. But these blushing buds caught my eye repeatedly from the kitchen door and even the upstairs window and quickly began to win me over. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). North Toronto Horticultural Society.
