It would seem as though the whole process speeds up at the end, because today I have three blooms! I think it was worth the wait. I won't say any more - I'll just show you. And from the side. Thursday, January 26, 2006. In the past few weeks, I have just been giving in to this unreasonable urge to get more plants. I want to get the ones I don't have and expand my collection. And in some cases I am getting some that I have already but that look somewhat different, just because I like them. I am still contemplating what seeds I will get also. I want to see those beautiful flowers even though I am told that the climate is too warm for them to set their buds over the "winter" But I will see. ...

Saturday, August 19, 2006. My C&S rock garden. I wanted to create a rock garden a few years back, so I got some limestone rocks, filled in the crevices with soil, used smaller rocks to fill in some of the spaces and planted some small cacti and other succulents - even some seedlings. I was looking back through some photos and found what it looked like shortly after I set it up. Now I'm thinking about expanding it as soon as I can get some more rocks. Posted by Jade at 6:45 pm. Monday, October 16, 2006. This was just a tiny thing when I won it in the CSSM raffle in April this year - it was hardly green and had been offset in March so was just starting to grow. I chose it off the raffle table even though there were other bigger and more attractive plants to choose from because I just have this weakness for Gymnocalyciums (and I didn't have gibbosum). Wednesday, December 21, 2005. Euphorbia flanaganii - already got flowers. What a difference the environment makes to a plant. Stuck my euphorbia flanagani in a pot pretty much with just sandy soil, watered and put it in the garden. And now I have flowers - small as they are but . I hope I can get seeds! Tuesday, May 30, 2006. I bought a cactus garden in March just because I wanted this gymno. I wasn't too excited about anything else in the pot, but I just felt that I should add this particular one to my collection. When I got it home, I realised that it looked very much like the Gymnocalycium leeanum. That I already had, and felt a bit disappointed, but still potted it up to see how it would develop. Sunday, June 18, 2006. I've been trying to not get anything new, but yesterday I went to a Cactus and Succulent Society meeting and came home with a box of goodies. Mostly Euphorbias. And far more than I had planned. My excuse is that they are all fairly small so they won't take up much space. Just for the record:. 2 Euphorbia gorgonis "Brevirama". An offset from a mature plant. Tuesday, March 07, 2006. My Euphorbia mammillaris variegata. Were both doing very well in their pot out in the garden - seemed to be so happy as they started growing and putting on offsets and spines? And I thought all was fine. Just look and see for yourself. The third plant (with no sign of rot) has been also unpotted and washed clean to be given a fresh start - there may have been fungus lurking in the soil so treatment is needed to try to prevent future damage and loss. Thursday, February 23, 2006. Mammillarias are doing well. So just for the record - the unnamed that have been flowering:. I call this first one M3 - this week putting on a good show. I have decided to call the next one M10 (kind of random, you think? Also in bloom this week. To the left below is M11 (starting to see a pattern?
