Friday, November 30, 2001. I haven't got round to updating in the last few days because I have been too tired from lack of sleep. Now I'm feeling more awake here goes. I had my final seminar of the model WHI this morning, only lasted one hour. We had to do a quiz to see how healthy we were, the higher the score the better. I got 52 out of 63. (lost points because I drink full fat milk). Uniform still hasn't arrived, they better get a move on, placement is just over the horizon. Tuesday, November 27, 2001.

Saturday, February 23, 2002. I am full of a really nasty cold. Therefore I have been veg’in all day hoping to get the worst of it out of my system before placement tomorrow. On Friday I got up early and caught a coach to London from Coventry Pool Meadow bus station. Objective: Ride the London Eye. My older brother Chris was already on the coach [which picked him up in Tamworth]. I dozed for most of the 2 and a half hour journey, other then that I listened to some music. Monday, February 18, 2002. It was ...

Tuesday, January 29, 2002. Last Wednesday I had my clinical measure’s practical lecture. For this lecture we were required to learn how to take pulses, temperatures, BP’s and oxygen saturation. I have certainly benefited from working as an auxiliary nurse last year. As a result I have experience in this sort of thing. It’s good having the experience because then the lecture is mostly revision and you can help and support your fellow Students. Well enough of this nursing jargon. Blog out. :-). It has been...

Sunday, August 29, 2004. After recieving three offers of a job in all, one at Coventry, one at University College London Hospitals and one at The Royal London - I have made my decision where to start. It looks like I am staying in the West Midlands for now. Once I have finished my course I am going to post some top tips for student nurses. Sunday, August 01, 2004. I went and checked in the Toilet just incase. I said, "What, What, What is it? Thankfully I didn't get a third insect on me that night. Go for...

Saturday, September 28, 2002. This afternoon I was walking past Priory Halls of residence. Today is the first day of freshers week. It was really strange to be looking at freshers unloading their cars. They looked so young, nervous and innocent - give them a week heh. It was a strange sensation to be looking at them from an almost second years point of view. My first year as gone so fast! Friday, September 27, 2002. Ekk long time no blog. Oh well, I should really have a lot to post. 1 Living in halls.

Friday, December 20, 2002. This holiday has gone ever so quick! I am coming home again tomorrow night, flight returns to Brum at 23.45. I have had a fantastic time. When I get home, it is only a few days till christmas! Yesterday loads of people arrived at the appartments for their Christmas Holiday so everything is really busy compared to when I arrived. I would hate to be here for christmas, I am one of those Family and Home gals when it comes to Christmas. Hi and kisses to all X. That seemed to bring ...

Thursday, March 28, 2002. Monday, March 25, 2002. Last Friday's night out to the students union was fantastic, a really good way to end the second term. I can't believe how fast this term has gone. I've heard that the third term goes even faster, scary! Unfortunately when everyone has broken up for the Two-three months they have off for summer, us nurse's will be still at Uni. I only get two weeks summer holiday off at the end of July. Friday, March 22, 2002. Thursday, March 21, 2002. Its taken me almost...

Friday, April 19, 2002. I decided not too long ago to go for a walk and get some fresh air. On my travels I stopped at Sainsburys to grab some cake and ended up with two boxes of French fancies. Well they were on special so I thought I might as well get a couple of boxes. :-). Once I saw a pigeon walking round Coventry city centre without any feet, it just had stumps. It looked really strange. FACT: pigeon poo rots their own feet. Social context of health essay [Not yet launched] Deadline end of May.

Tuesday, October 29, 2002. Have you ever looked back in time, to a period in your life when you were unhappy and at the time didn’t realise it? Well enough was enough. I hadn’t been sleeping, I could not concentrate on my work and I was stressed and unhappy. The cleaner just needed to come in and clean the place and then it would be ready. I was definitely interested, filled in a form and said I would be back on Monday. One Happy Blogger Out. Sunday, October 20, 2002. Friday, October 18, 2002. Last night...

Tuesday, October 30, 2001. While surfing the Universities web CT, I decided to have a look at the discussion page for WHI under the topic of age and ageism. One of my fellow students came across a very interesting poem. See below. In my background reading on the subject of Ageism I came across this poem. Entitled ‘Kate’. Whilst in hospital, Kate, the writer of the poem, was unable. To speak, but was occasionally seen to write. After her death, her hospital. Locker was emptied and this poem was found.
