Welcome to mike.rosmore.org. Right now this is mostly about my method. Of playing single-line melody on guitar, along with some newer information on working with a guitar tuned to EADGCF. I've been a software engineer for almost 30 years, including 4 years managing a software architecture group. I'm married with no kids. I like to hang out with my wife, watch movies on DVD, play standards on guitar using my own method. And post to the Telecaster Guitar Forum. Here are some of my poems.

Dove Baby Pics 2010. Their nest was on a 2x4 under the eaves of our house, about 3 feet to the left of our back door. The parents set up the nest about a month ago, started sitting on the eggs about 3 weeks ago and the chicks (is that what you call baby doves? Hatched about 5 or 6 days ago (the end of June). This pic is from the first time that we've seen the babies left alone. Up until this, we thought there was only one chick, since the parent seems to sit between them and hide one of them.

Strangely enough, one of the things I'm trying to let go of is thinking all the time, needing to have all the answers and always be right. It's too much work and it wears me out. The basis of my 'method' is being able to play in six keys. Twelve if you count the corresponding minors) using only two positions. It turns out that these six keys cover a LOT of the jazz standards. Unlike blues, which seems to be written mostly in keys with lots of sharps, standards seem to be written mostly in keys with lots of flats. Guitar - EADGCF Tuning. A guitar is traditionally tuned to EADGBE, starting with the low E string. The interval between each of the strings is a fourth, except for the interval between the G and B strings, which is a third. Nobody seems to know why. I decided to go with EADGCF tuning when I started working on a scales and arpeggios excercise in a Jamey Aebersold. The resulting scale patterns are a slight adjustment to my method.
