Thursday, June 19, 2008. I'm Excited. Tomorrow I leave for Houston. I am driving all by myself. For some, that may sound boring.to me.it's the sound of sweet peace and quiet for 5 hours. No sounds of Veggie Tales, or a little boy asking "Why? As grateful as I am that he is intelligent and vocal, it can really get old after a while. So, I am excited about a drive to Houston. How lame is that? Not really, because I get to go to Harwin - which is so fun! I get to eat yummy food - fun too!

Friday, August 1, 2008. Finally - here is my Hurricane Dolly post. We, like many others, didn't do very much preparation for this hurricane - it was only a Cat 1, and we've seen 50 mile/hour winds many times before. The night before the hurricane, we were outside visiting with neighbors and hanging out. Pike was playing in finger paints on the driveway - all was relatively calm. We lost power at our house about 2pm and slept that night in it - when I woke up about 7am, I walked outside in my pajamas and ...

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Skylar's One Year Portraits. Sweet Skylar. These are unretouched. Really I should be blogging about Christmas but I have yet to download those photos. A little about Skylar: We just figured out, that at 15 months now, she is probably smarter than us, lol. She is a really smart little cookie. She has at least 25 words she can speak, which is amazing for a barely 1-year old. I guess in our house you have to be loud to be heard? Curly Shirley Temple ringlets!

Friday, July 11, 2008. Today I went to a bridesmaids luncheon. I am a bridemaid in Steve's little sister's wedding tomorrow. The theme of the luncheon was sort-of like the movie 27 dresses - you had to wear one of your old bridesmaids dresses and there was a contest and awards for vaious categories. Well, I don't keep anything, especially old bridesmaids dresses, so I had to scour the Salvation Army. I found a great "ugly" dress and sure enough - I won the WORST DRESS award! Sunday, January 27, 2008. After about 4 years of guiding hunts on the El Tecomate, Steve finally got to shoot one of his own. The good news is, we didn't have to pay for it. It scored 142, which was more than Steve and Ryan initially thought it would be. Ryan is one of Steve's best friends and he manages the Tecomate. Other news isn't very exciting: Pike is either cutting molars or becoming a "terrible two" overnight. We can't figure him out lately and are struggling to find answers - if there are any.
