..so they dance!: Objects of filmi fondness.
http://sotheydance.blogspot.com/p/objects-of-filmi-fondness.html
Reviews and ramblings on Indian cinema. Objects of filmi fondness. And stayed the same until I updated it in 2012. This is the updated version. Let's be frank about this. A lot of what I watch is very male-centric, as is most Indian cinema, hell, as is most cinema. But that doesn't mean I don't have a taste for cool female characters, be they kickass or more subdued. ..so they dance!: This is the story of how I got completely obsessed with Randeep Hooda.
http://sotheydance.blogspot.com/2013/01/this-is-story-of-how-i-got-completely.html
Reviews and ramblings on Indian cinema. Tuesday, January 22, 2013. This is the story of how I got completely obsessed with Randeep Hooda. Everybody's allowed to gain a new quirk over the New Year, right? Mine just happened to be an instant obsession with Randeep Hooda (all thanks to Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. It's perfectly possible. Is my interest inadvisable for others considering how many crap films I ended up watching just for him? So here's my haul so far. And safe to say it was not a very good on...

..so they dance!: Traipsing through underwhelment; some mini-reviews of films.
http://sotheydance.blogspot.com/2014/10/traipsing-through-underwhelment-some.html
Reviews and ramblings on Indian cinema. Sunday, October 5, 2014. Traipsing through underwhelment; some mini-reviews of films. I could take them or leave them. The depiction of the sleazy-yet-honest world of the A rating was fantastic, but I was never sucked in, fascinated by what was happening. Was it good? Yes, definitely. But I didn't love it. ..so they dance!: Mardaani: heroism for today.
http://sotheydance.blogspot.com/2014/10/mardaani-heroism-for-today.html
Reviews and ramblings on Indian cinema. Monday, October 6, 2014. Mardaani: heroism for today. Rani Mukherjee plays the role cool as a cucumber. You could accuse the character of the same exaggerated flawlessness as many a film cop, but what I'd argue is that men get these roles dime a dozen, whereas seeing this kind of badassery from a woman is pretty rare. Let us have it, for once, in all its exaggeration. Let's allow Shivani to be awesome without undercutting it one bit. He is essentially asking, but i...

..so they dance!: Highway, and a journey home.
http://sotheydance.blogspot.com/2014/05/highway-and-journey-home.html
Reviews and ramblings on Indian cinema. Saturday, May 10, 2014. Highway, and a journey home. Sometimes being out of the loop, not following every promo and trailer, can be so beneficial for a film aficionado. I didn't expect Imtiaz Ali's Highway. To be much more than maybe a strange, Stockholm syndrome inspired kidnapper-kidnappee romance. The pairing of Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda seemed strange, and considering her last performance that I saw was the wooden, unbearable turn in Student of the Year.

Antarra's ramblings: April 2010
http://antarrasramblings.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 20 April 2010. Nadiya ke par (1948). So, this is what the middle of nowhere looks like:. I can sympathise with not wanting to spend the night here:. Hi, I am here to fall in love with the wrong person:. I sense a certain amount of tension:. Maybe they suffer from moustache envy:. I wonder what I will do on vacation:. Yep, we are off to a good start:. You may not know it, but you are clearly meant for each other:. Our second couple is accounted for:. Of course they aren't that alone:. Aah, I see:.

Antarra's ramblings: October 2008
http://antarrasramblings.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 17 October 2008. I have a soft spot for this movie. It is after all the movie which sold me on Rishi Kapoor. If, however, the thought if Rishi and Manisha Koirala as a couple gives you serious misgivings, or the screaming heebie jeebies, this is probably not the movie for you. It stars of with Anmol's birthday party. The family consists of her, her father, her stepmother, two stepsisters (hmmm, I wonder why this sounds so familiar) and step uncle. What do you think? Prem learns of this developmen...

Antarra's ramblings: June 2009
http://antarrasramblings.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 27 June 2009. Apologies for the even longer than usual gap between posts. It's mainly due to holidays; mine (which were excellent) and other people's (which mean that I have to spend more time at work and less time watching movies). Uran Khatola starts in a very promising fashion with a disclaimer:. Though I would rather fancy a country where this is a common mode of transport:. The print of my Dvd wasn't great, so the pictures are somewhat on the obscure side. He seems to find her rather scary:.

Antarra's ramblings: January 2011
http://antarrasramblings.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 28 January 2011. You better have an interesting architectural history:. One of them is more convincingly aged than the other:. We learn that Raj had a happy childhood together with his brother Kundan, the aforementioned loyal retainer and his father. His sister, Rani, was always proud and easily angered as well as given to call everybody Budtameez at the slightest provocation. Impressions of a happy:. And possibly somewhat less happy childhood:. Just after the deadly slap:. It’s fun making ...

Antarra's ramblings: November 2009
http://antarrasramblings.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 26 November 2009. Zabardast has much to offer to the viewer, a highly convoluted plot including the requisite separated brothers (though nobody is lost at a fair), a villain played by Amrish Puri, and lots and lots of sequins. After a colourful title sequence with fireworks in the background. Palmistry, I will take up Palmistry. I am somehow suspicious as to the authenticity of these policemen (those aren't regulation moustaches). A lovingly handcrafted burning building:. Only a small palace:.
