SmartASS-3 Air Speed Speaker. The SmartASS-3 is an Air Speed Speaker, a talking Airspeed Indicator. The benefits of having your propeller dynamically balanced are well known. Unfortunately, until the earlier PB‑1 was released, the equipment required to do the job had been too expensive for individuals or even small groups to consider purchasing. In terms of achievable balance quality, all these products are similar – they differ most in the refinement of their user interfaces. The PB-1 is no longer available (still supported). Over the years, people have used various methods to determine if their rotor blade tips are flying at the same height. Now that super bright LEDs are available in a range of colours, you can mount a different coloured LED on each rotor tip and it is easy to see the tracking error. The Smart Avionics Rotor Tip LEDs feature:. Super bright, daylight visible 5mm LEDs. Available colours are red. One person operation (no strobes or other equipment to hold while flying).
