Without further, unnecessary prefacing, here are some fun dances:. There is something about this first dance that is very unusual. It appears in Zinda Laash (1967), which is a horror/vampire film (which might explain why it is so strange). The dancer is Cham Cham, and she is very good. . Mera Ghar Meri Jannat. Posted by Richard S. On May 27, 2015. Actually, Miranda had sent a comment in February on a post that I had put up three and a half years earlier for the Pakistani film. Mera Ghar Meri Jannat. Before I had seen this dance, I had mainly seen Rani in semi-classical dances and folk dances, but I was not surprised that she was ...

Old films and me: September 2013
http://oldfilmsgoingthreadbare.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Old films and me. No matter where the clock's needles are, I'm game for a film! But, unlike my peers, I seek refuge in the celluloid products of the 50s, 60s and 70s. The romance those days, I feel, was supremely subtle. The stories, convincing, the heroes heroic, the ladies enchanting and the music, oh-so haunting! In short, I love travelling back in time to delve into the golden era of Bollywood and Hollywood. It's solace I find there. Blogadda Who are you reading today? Wednesday, 4 September 2013.

Dedicated to tamil film stories and music from the yesteryears. Tuesday, September 9, 2008. This blog is dedicated to my love of all Tamil language records and film stories. I must regret that I do not speak or understand Tamil myself (for the moment anyway), and anyone should feel free to translate anything heard on this blog. It is also possible for me to post other South Indian language records (Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, etc) as well. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Various: Cabaret Songs From Films (1976) ~ Music From The Third Floor
http://www.mft3f.com/2014/12/various-cabaret-songs-from-films-1976.html
Music from the Third Floor. Monday, December 29, 2014. Various: Cabaret Songs From Films (1976). Before disco, there was of course the cabaret number. And considering how much these show-stopping songs have informed the whole Music From The Third Floor project I think it only appropriate that a compilation of some of the best ones should be the blog's 300th record posted. Mera Naam Hai Shabnam'. From soundtracks still on my want list. Come on guys, help me find 'em) and this collection has me beaming.
Madan Mohan: Hanste Zakhm (1972) ~ Music From The Third Floor
http://www.mft3f.com/2008/12/madan-mohan-hanste-zakhm-1972.html
Music from the Third Floor. Friday, December 26, 2008. Madan Mohan: Hanste Zakhm (1972). I mentioned a short while back. That Madan Mohan made one of my favourite Bollywood albums. Here it is; not the most consistent soundtrack I own, but featuring two tracks that both fall into the 'stop whatever you're doing' category. Mohd Rafi's 'Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho'. Look like a luridly coloured nouvelle vague film (Hindi style). Which I'm pretty sure it's not, but I do. Classy artwork as well. PS 'Hanste Zakhm' is a...

Music from the Third Floor. Friday, December 19, 2014. Rahul Dev Burman: Kudrat (1980). The last regular post before Christmas. RD Burman again, and a rather good one even though it's not among his most memorable, or at least not the most immediately accessible. And the strings on the first 'Hamen Tumse Pyar Kitna'. Are sumptuous. Parveen Sultana's singing on the second version. Which is the sort of thing that will make you want to dance, but slowly, nonchalantly, with your eyes closed. 4 Asha Bhosle: Sa...

Sunday, November 2, 2008. Now That's What I Call A Storybook Ending. Wow I mean, wow. I know I haven't written anything in almost two months. Forgive me, for I have been busy. Also, about midway through the Phillies' run to the series, I decided not to update the blog for fear of jinxing anything. To be quite honest, it gave me what felt like a worthwhile excuse to be lazy, but whatever. The Phillies won the fucking World Series. 600 kids from our high school are absent today! Gee almost a year since I last posted.I wasn't sure just what I thought of this blogging, but now after reading my past blogs, I think it is a real nice way to look back on the past. I really am looking forward to having the entire project finished. Winter In God's Country.
