Living out our dream one country at a time. Things we forgot, I mean CHOSE, not to write home about. Warning, this blog is not for the faint of heart and could deter some people from traveling for long stints. 99% of our experiences have been top notch and we have had very few bad incidents. We both strongly encourage people to travel and believe us; the good strongly outweighs the bad! October 21, 2010 Deterred Robbery. January 14, 2011 Scooter Wreck. May 5, 2011 – Breakfast Disasters. Living out our dream one country at a time. New Zealand through Brad’s Eyes. Jessica has been hounding me to write a New Zealand blog so I have finally given in to her pleasant requests. To set things off right I need to describe both where I am while I am typing away and our living situation for the last month. Our overnight ferry to Picton was uneventful and we hope to see the sights from the ship on the return trip. Comments : 1 Comment. Comments : Leave a Comment. FAIL and WIN Collection. For a chang...

Living out our dream one country at a time. It is the simple pleasures in life that make us happy. Like air conditioning, a glass of refillable pop and a plate of good quality deep-fried chicken. Today Brad and I were searching out a place for lunch and we passed a restaurant claiming to be Korea’s favorite chicken restaurant. We were so happy we took pictures of the menu. It has been a long time since we had food that tasted like western food and our stomachs said thank you! Comments : 2 Comments. When ...

Living out our dream one country at a time. What was your favorite? Staying at the base of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano that erupted 4 months prior to our arrival in Iceland. Witnessing the chaos of Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Watching the sunset from the fortress in Salzburg, Austria sipping Mozart coffee. Cruising in an electric boat on the lake at Hallstatt, Austria. Riding a scooter around Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic. Ferrying through the Alps in Switzerland. Climbing around the ancient Khmer t...

Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Hannah has been sleeping in her new room for few weeks now, but I feel like now it is complete. Grandmum. Sorry for so few posts. I have been thinking/trying to get organized for Hannah's birthday party. Hopefully soon I will be back to weekly posts! Thanks for checking on us. Saturday, January 8, 2011. She did a really good job. She did not really fuss. She had a bit of trouble when her bangs were cut. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Family of Four!
Life with Noah: May 2011
http://g-and-mjenkinson.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 23, 2011. I don't really have anything earth shattering to post about, just thought I would include some pictures of what we've been up to lately! Gavan is out of town this week so Noah and I have been hanging out and running errands to keep ourselves busy. We are headed to my parents tomorrow to see them and to have a few extra hands in the evenings. I contemplated having him stay in our room last night with Gavan gone and the storms, but I stuck to it and he (or more like me) did fine.

It measures 3 1/2 inches long and weighs 1 1/2 ounces. Monday, October 18, 2010. Reason why study hoarders shouldn't marry. Saturday, October 16, 2010. Tuesday, May 17, 2011. She did not get a great nap in that day. But if this girl gets tired a little popcorn will do the trick to make her happy and behave. Can you find Tony Allen? The people behind us were Grizzly fans. They had really big cardboard heads of some of the players. Hannah was a bit confused by those. We had so much fun at the game! Here are the girls playing on Hannah's bed. It wasn't naptime. Or nighttime so Hannah allowed Emma to lay on her bed. Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Emma has been slee...

Life with Noah: Catch up Post
http://g-and-mjenkinson.blogspot.com/2011/09/catch-up-post.html
Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Well since I suck at posting things as they happen, I guess I'll just post everything in one post! Anyways, Here are some of Noah's 4 month pictures. Noah is eating 5 oz when he has a bottle every 3 hours and is now in size 2 diapers. At his appointment he weighed 12 pounds 15 oz! And he was 25 inches long. He had a growth spurt and is now in the 50th percentile for height. He is just going to be a skinny kid and is still in the 17th percentile for weight. Oh well! Travel temp...

Monday, September 27, 2010. Week 10 - better late than never. I think my clothes are starting to fit a little tighter, but it is hard to tell. I also don't try to suck in a little like I used to :). Here is Baby J at 10 weeks. It is a little over an inch long and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce! Minus some nausea of course). Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Definitely a good day! Today was for sure a great day! First, I got the first part of my board scores last night and I passed! On a downer note,...

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Week 28 has been pretty great in terms of Noah stuff! We had an ultrasound on Monday at our appointment and Noah's kidneys are back in the normalish range and definitely aren't getting bigger. We were glad to hear that. Here I am at 28 weeks:. And here is Noah:. Not counting the obvious I don't want Noah to have any problems of course. All pants, some tops. I can wear my regular sweaters if they are long enough and I can still fit into my scrubs. Baby Boy Noah Tyler Jenkinson!

Saturday, February 26, 2011. Well, we are at week 32 now, only 8 more to go! I am finally realizing that I really am pregnant. I know that sounds weird but I feel like I actually look like a pregnant person all the time now and I even feel some of the effects of the extra weight now. How far along: 32 weeks (33 tomorrow). Total weight gain: 17 pounds, I evidently made up for no weight gain the two weeks before. Gender: Baby Boy Noah Tyler Jenkinson! Best Moment this week: Getting his dresser in! Monday, ...
Life with Noah: Noah is 3 months!
http://g-and-mjenkinson.blogspot.com/2011/07/noah-is-3-months.html
Sunday, July 17, 2011. Noah is 3 months! Well Friday was Noah's 3 month birthday! Every month I am surprised at how quickly the time has gone but at the same time it feels like he has been here for forever. What is going on with Noah this month? He has really started to find his hands and he loves for them to be in his mouth! He isn't really a thumb sucker, but he is working on getting just the thumb to suck on. Some days I go into his room and he has his hand out of his swaddle just sucking away! He is...

T R I V I A L THOUGHTS. A page in cyberspace for my thoughts! Spare the cane and nurture the soul. I just chanced upon a wonderful person, Kalyan. Routine Ramblings - Blog
That I have been sort of treating this blog like a 'scrapbook'. My goal has been to go back to things that have happened throughout the year, or over the years and spend some time pondering them, because let's face it.even though this is supposed to be a 'slice' of what my life is like every day for a month, not that many interesting or poignant moments happen every day. I don't have an epiphany every day. I don't always feel like thinking about what happened every day. I simply say, 'It's over.'. But wh...

Routine Revelations
Thursday, June 2, 2011. I've decided one of the most challenging aspects of motherhood is the tricky balance between teaching your kids independence in the areas of personal hygiene, picking up after themselves, and dirty clothes management versus the tried-and-true approach of nagging, giving up, and just doing it all yourself while huffing out expletives under your breath or blasting the uncooperative party with the periodic, shame-laced, martyr comments. God knows we have to get to the end ourselves b...
