https://djsown.wordpress.com/2014/01/15/owh-challenge-207
Handmade Cards for Every Occasion (but I don't stamp! It’s been ages since I’ve actually entered a challenge and I couldn’t think of a better one with which to jump back in. This is the sketch from Operation Write Home. This week. I really like the simplicity and (frankly) it fits my style to a T. This is the card I made using the sketch. I liked this one so much that I may have to make more cards using the sketch. I have lots of papers that will fit nicely with this design. A Batch of OWH Cards. Me at a...

Handmade Cards for Every Occasion (but I don't stamp! I Couldn’t Resist. When this tutorial from Operation Write Home. Came into my inbox, I just HAD to try making one myself. This is the finished product from the tutorial on their web page. Here’s my card, though it’s not quite done, but almost. I followed the tutorial as best I could with the tools I have on hand. We’re traveling right now and I don’t have everything with me. But I like how it came out. Well, thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Handmade Cards for Every Occasion (but I don't stamp! After learning of a friend’s passing today, I wanted to make a sympathy card for his wife. I started out by picking the image I wanted to use and then started looking for a sketch to get the mojo working. This sketch caught my eye this week’s challenge from Critter Sketch Challenge. This is my finished card, along with the inside. White A2 card base, cut to square. Patterned papers from Miss Caroline Howdy Doody. Black and white cardstock from my stash.

Through Karen's Eyes: Wedding Rings
http://through-karens-eyes.blogspot.com/2012/06/wedding-rings.html
Thoughts and ideas from a small town gal. Friday, June 01, 2012. Strange title, but that's one of my goals - to be able to get my wedding rings back on my hand. So here is my challenge and will need LOTS of support through the next 8 weeks. This scares me to my very core, but it has to get done for many reasons. But since I was on Facebook at just the right time, there was a post from an ex-coworker about her expanding her business and an opportunity to get healthy. And I trust this woman. I weighed myse...

Through Karen's Eyes: Happier!
http://through-karens-eyes.blogspot.com/2014/01/happier.html
Thoughts and ideas from a small town gal. Sunday, January 05, 2014. Funny title, but it is true! There is an online course that will help you become a more positive person associated with the Happier app. Of course there is a fee for that, but the app itself is free. And I love free! Easy peeesy. Nice to have that little icon on your phone to remind you, even if you don't make a status update. One more thing I found on Facebook this morning that really hit home. Yet another reason I am 'Happier'. We are ...

Through Karen's Eyes: April 2013
http://through-karens-eyes.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Thoughts and ideas from a small town gal. Sunday, April 14, 2013. Simplify: Chapter 56A, Page 1. It's been nearly a year since my last blog. Sounds kind of like going to confession in the Catholic church a bit. But life is ever changing, and this chapter has opened with getting back to the basics: Faith, Family, Friends, and Simplicity. That is not always an easy task at work. But it's important. So Chapter 56A will run for the next 90 days. Every other Sunday or so. With new beginnings, you have to ...

Through Karen's Eyes: New Year 2014
http://through-karens-eyes.blogspot.com/2014/01/new-year-2014.html
Thoughts and ideas from a small town gal. Wednesday, January 01, 2014. And to all that read this, may you find happiness and contentment in the coming year. I wanted to start off with a snippet from a love letter from my Heavenly Father. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! He writes the most wonderful things, many of which I have forgotten or yet to discover! I just couldn't see past my own nose. God knew, and He chose to let me struggle until the exact mo...
