The Eighth Continent: October 2011

http://rowaninpc.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. I wish I could give you some fascinating and delicious recipes, but the fact is, despite the excellent diversity of food in country, Malagasy cuisine is generally really boring. It follows these basic rules:. 1) That is not enough rice. Here, take some more. 2) Use the whole cow (or other animal). Brains, eyeballs, skin, feet, it’s all used. I think you mean salt. Or, even better, MSG, just dump in a handful. 4) Sure you don’t want more rice?

Andrew in Madagascar: November 2011

http://andrewbourret.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 18, 2011. About once a month, I work with one of the guides to do a lemur transect. This consists of walking the trails quietly and recording the species and location of lemurs we encounter. It’s an awesome opportunity and I am usually fortunate enough to spot a few. My Trip to France

My Trip to France. Friday, June 29, 2012. Now for a message about Omaha! Between last night and tonight, we watched the movie Saving Private Ryan,. Which is about D-Day and WWII. After seeing a reenactment of the events of D-Day, being on the beach where it all happened was so surreal and intense. Walking through the memorial and just taking everything in was mind blowing.
