Musing, Opining and Criticising. Wednesday, 24 September 2014. 10 Books That Have Stayed With Me. Okay, so Clare nominated me to list 10 books that have stayed with me in some way. I have to list 10 books that have stayed with me in some way. The rules: Don't take more than a few minutes and don't think too hard - they don't have to be the "right" or "great" works, just the ones that have touched you. Copying this here from Facebook, to keep it for posterity). Five Go Off in a Caravan (Enid Blyton).

Musing, Opining and Criticising: July 2012

Musing, Opining and Criticising. Sunday, 15 July 2012. Tiffany Porter - Plastic Brit? When Tiffany Porter broke the British record in the 100m hurdles in June 2011, the Daily Mail had a shit-fit. Here was an athlete from abroad, running for Britain under supposedly false pretences, taking the record, the glory and the opportunities from true British athletes. I hate to say it, but for once I think they kinda have a point. Aldama writes of her pain at being seen as 'not-British', since:. Tiffany Porter wa...

Musing, Opining and Criticising. Wednesday, 12 September 2012. Why I won't be buying an iPhone 5. It does look very pretty, doesn't it? And it's going to collect your e-tickets for you and have a really fast processor. It's got a great camera (just like the Samsung Galaxy S3 had when it came out), and a super-exciting new proprietary connector. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Rawr i'm a panda. Thursday, 17 February 2011. About Me' and the perils of finding photos that fit. I figured I should probably actually write something in here so that it's not just a blank-ass blog page with a bunch of links on it :D. So I am dedicating my first post to the blog creation process! Bad Show. It took me forever* to find a photo that fit both of these requirements. Um um um. I am now under pressure from the Super-Awesome-and-Wonderful Fudgecrumpet. Is fabulous and amazing and cool and things.

Musing, Opining and Criticising. Tuesday, 11 June 2013. Glass Mill leisure centre Lewisham - swimming review. Today was the second day that the new Glass Mill leisure centre on Loampit Vale in Lewisham has been open, and I went down this morning before work to have a swim. I was later than intended, so only got to do a few laps, but thought I'd write up on my experiences for others intending to head down. One development I did like was the huge clock on one of the longer walls of the building - this mean...

Musing, Opining and Criticising. Tuesday, 27 March 2012. Eurovision 2012 - a draw analysis. It's been a week, which is plenty of time for the draw for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest to sink in a little, so here's my take on what those random little balls have done to the chances of some of our favourite songs. Semi 1 starts with, who else, Montenegro. Follow, two strong songs which should have decent chances of making the final from any starting position. I personally feel that Latvia. As good a draw a...

Musing, Opining and Criticising: Save Lewisham Hospital - but don't politicise it
http://musingopiningandcriticising.blogspot.com/2013/01/save-lewisham-hospital-but-dont.html
Musing, Opining and Criticising. Sunday, 27 January 2013. Save Lewisham Hospital - but don't politicise it. Yesterday I took part in the march to Save Lewisham Hospital. It was a great occasion, with around 20,000 members of the local community walking from Lewisham town centre, down past the hospital to a rally point at Mountsfield Park, where numerous speakers took the stage to speak about the campaign. 8212; Nadine Dorries MP (@NadineDorriesMP) January 21, 2013. 27 January 2013 at 17:55. Musing, Opining and Criticising. Tuesday, 30 October 2012. A tale of language success. Those familiar with my postings will know that I'm currently learning Norwegian, but that's not the subject of the story I want to share today. However, I turned up and was determined to follow the mantra of Benny from Fluent in 3 Months. But it's those little victories that mean a lot to me. Checking into the hotel. Musing, Opining and Criticising. Monday, 2 April 2012. The demoralising world of trust fundraising. Being a trust fundraiser can be a bit of a demoralising world to inhabit at times like this. The recession has bit funders hard, and money is limited. At the same time, many charities have lost major grants or statutory funding contracts, meaning that competition for these limited funds is up. Just gotta keep positive! Links to this post.
