Boats available for members. 10 ISO high performance two-man dinghies; two laser 16 family/training boats; 11 laser ones and two club javelin dinghies; 16 optimist boats and three mirror dinghies for junior sailors. A full-time staff repair and maintain this fleet. Six to eight consecutive Saturday afternoons or a full weekend are generally required to complete basic training. There is no charge for sailing instruction, but there is usually a waiting list. Click on green arrows to view slide show.

Oppy Sailing

This activiy is aimed at children aged 8 to 15.It takes place on Friday afternoons from 1.30 to approximately 4.00pm and is aimed at beginners. Rigging and sailing techniques are taught by experienced adult sailors. Cost per month, per child, is B$10 and the Club provides all boats. Young sailors regularly participate in sailing competitions in the region.

Saturday, 15 March 2014. Lots and lots of goodbyes. This morning we went back to the house to do a walk-through with the landlord's representative and the new tenants, and give the keys back. Goodbye house, a bit sad. Also we said goodbye to our Amah, Rhoda. Rhoda has been with us for six years, almost all the time we've been here, so she's seen the kids grow up. Thursday, 13 March 2014. Many lasts at the moment, but I think I've finally reached that somewhat numb state, where I just want it to be over with soon. I haven't shed any tears at all the last few days! Everything going on is all nice things though, so I'm enjoying each day at the moment, to the max. The packing was all done Tuesday, the boxes all got labeled and wrapped yesterday and tomorrow the moving guys will come and pick it all up to take it to the airport. Tuesday, 11 March 2014. My last H3 hash. My last hash with the Hen House Harriers here in Brunei was the St Patricks Day run at Lower Diplo. I got kitted out with the traditional last-run-bells, and off we went. Anna and I, and me together with some of the Loan Service girls:. It was a really nice run, with a few rather deep water crossings and a few challenging hills. I liked it! Anna signing me out for the very last time, after 211. We got photo bombed! So the on-on went in green, for St Patricks Day.

Wednesday, 5 March 2014. Sport Relief Run 2014. Yesterday the kids were dressed in red and white ( well, sort of. For another fundraising event at school - the Sport Relief 1 mile run. They've done this once before, two years ago. And back then I remembered it being a huge. Event with lots of parents participating, and it was very festive. Yesterday, not many parents turned up at all unfortunately, and out of those who did, very few ran. I took pictures. :). Happy faces before the run:. Just the two of us.

Monday, 17 March 2014. It's funny, I must have anticipated this day so much, and taken out all the sorrow in advance - because today was actually not too bad. Some. Tears yes, but not as bad as I had thought. It was just a really lovely send off. It was a bit of a shame that we had to leave Brunei on a SQ flight ( rather than a RBA flight.
