2015, A proposal to relocate the Huncoat War Memorial. Early in June Hyndburn Borough Council decided to leave the memorial where it is for three main reasons. 1) Although only 5.2% of residents objected the Council felt obliged to listen to people who had taken the time to respond. 2) The local community seemed willing to find ways to help people with mobility issues get up to the war memorial on Remembrance Sunday.
