Saturday, May 2, 2009. Just got back from the SHARE MTB Poker Ride. It is a fund-raiser for the group. SHARE is one of the most active local clubs when it comes to trail maintenance chores. The ride wound around El Moro/Laguna Coast/Crystal Cove on many of the trails that I ride for training. It was nice to take it at a "reasonable" clip this morning. I'll check the Garmin, but we did about 16 miles with about 2,500 ft. of elevation gain. Not yet, at least. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, June 15, 2009. Training for the Worlds. Did two nice road rides this weekend. I converted them to tubeless using Stan's yellow sealing tape and the Hutchinson Road Tubeless tires performed flawlessly! The resulting impact caused no rim damage and no flats. But I did lose a Polar insulated water bottle that bounced out. Bummer. Just keep working on what I can affect: my endurance and my fitness. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Back on the bike. During my recovery, I was told by the MDs that I needed to be cautious for a while since another concussion would be a "bad thing" so soon after my accident. The medical folks said that I should stay off the bike for about 6 months to a year! That would mean no riding until August 2009 or, best case, until February! I must have looked like a real geek with my running shoes and jeans, but it was the best ride I have ever taken! I would never ride a bike again.

Just living the dream. Thursday, June 26, 2008. Check out this sweet Rack. Just picked up an OEM roof rack (factory EDM). It's pretty weak that Subaru doesn't offer this "load carrier" to the USA. I guess they think the WRX wagon is good enough for us 'Merikuns. I had to order it from a dealer in the UK - Cheam Motors. It came in about a week, so I was stoked. The only downside is the current state of the dollar. The exchange rate blew, but it's worth it to have a factory rack. You can see in this pic:.

One of the other editors ended up with Cobb's 08 STI to tool around in, so I took it for a spin. Although it was only lightly modded, it was still sweet to drive. I'll leave out most of the details since the story hasn't been published yet, but let's just say is wasn't much. How could you go wrong? And not to mention, this car smoked a new GT500 Mustang.
