Laquo; The Suck. Guest Blog: I Dream of Sleep. ». In the airplane safety manuals, they instruct you to, in the case of an emergency, put your oxygen mask on first, before assisting others with theirs. Makes sense. Can't help someone if you are in need of help, yourself. And Chris would nod, knowing that I was waiting until my blood sugar was stable before I headed out. But as I wrote about yesterday. Being the dingbat that I am, I left the high alarm off. For four days. WTF? What's the point of wearing t...

A diabetic woman's journey to conceive. Sunday, April 13, 2014. 27w2d First official trip to maternity. We got up there and met with the on cal...

A diabetic woman's journey to conceive. Friday, August 22, 2014. Birth Story: part 1. It's been over 8 weeks since the birth of our daughter, the Tiny Fish. She is glorious and gorgeous and has the most delicious cheeky smile. I've found a rare moment of quiet time where she is asleep, I am awake enough to type, and all is calm in our house. So I'm going to put down a really short and sweet version of my birth story. Before I forget too much. It had been raining. A friendly person in the corridor mad...

The Piquant Storyteller: December 2009
http://piquantstoryteller.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 23, 2009. What is a spot? Spots can be good things or bad things. Have you ever had the rare privilege of parking in the first parking spot? Right next to a cart return so you can deposit your children in a cart as soon as you get them out? I have. I kept checking to see if it was actually a spot reserved for people with handicaps. Nope. That was a good spot! We have two collapsible laundry baskets in Hubby’s closet. One for darks and one for whites. But I have a lot of ...I also have...

The Piquant Storyteller: Dream a little dream
http://piquantstoryteller.blogspot.com/2010/05/dream-little-dream.html
Sunday, May 16, 2010. Dream a little dream. Day 7 - Dream a little dream - life after a cure. I had dreams of what I would say to my father the day I turned 18. Little did I know my life would change sooner than I planned when my mom left, taking her children with her. I turned 15 a couple weeks later. The idea of a miraculous cure for diabetes almost feels the same way to me. Of course I want it but it would be strange. It would take a lot of getting used to. Chances are I forgot something too. I’...

The Piquant Storyteller: Post #23
http://piquantstoryteller.blogspot.com/2010/06/post-23.html
Sunday, June 13, 2010. It started out as a passion for writing. Then it turned into a desire to find a different audience for one small sliver of posts I would write on my personal blog. I did. I found everything I was looking for before I started this project. Writers, interesting bloggers, adult Type 1 diabetics. I advertised myself as The Piquant Storyteller. After all was said and done I was more of a Timid Storyteller, not posting things for fear of offending someone! June 13, 2010 at 7:37 PM. I hav...
