The Lion's Roar: November 2009
http://hsdlions.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 13, 2009. After posting all of those books I bet y'll wonder if I ever teach! Reading is trully a passion of mine, and I love to see kids read. I remember as a child getting lost in books all the time. We were poor and didn't get to travel. I never went further than an hour away from my house until I was 18. But, reading took me on so many adventures. I think some children miss that experience now because people travel more. That I was reading his book! It is a historical fiction book (w...

Wednesday, December 9, 2009. I thought it would be fun to paint a pumpkin. If course we talked about geometric shapes and angles. The kids really enjoyed it and the smile on their faces were worth what it cost. For some of them this was the first time they had ever painted a pumpkin. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Lion's Roar: December 2009
http://hsdlions.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The football players came to my room to read to my students. The kids enjoyed this, but I think my boys liked it even more that the cheerleaders sat by them! After that experience they weren't fit to learn anything the rest of the day. Spirit week was AWESOME! As you can tell our float had a toilet on top of it. We didn;t win the contest, but everyone said that we should have. I thought we should have also. PJ day, what else needs to be said! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I tho...

http://hsdlions.blogspot.com/2009/11/i-had-to-include-this-book-because-my.html
Friday, November 13, 2009. I had to include this book because my son read it. As many of you know when he started Portland Elementary he could not read or write. This was in the 2nd grade. He came into my room last Friday and announced with his chest poked out Mom I just read an eight chapter book in one day and made a 100! That I was reading his book! Now every time I see him he has his head buried in a book! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe To The Lions Roar. How much is a million? This bo...

Sunday, October 25, 2009. The kids really enjoyed the spelling game. We have played twice, and they pick the Cowboys and the Razorbacks as their team names. I think the teams are currently tied 1-1. The First Year: September 2009
http://lesliemansur.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Just Another Manic Monday. Yes, I know it is now Tuesday, but I'm only just finding time to blog about Monday. I enjoyed the Saturday class. I met some new people whose blogs I have been following and saw some old friends that I haven't had time to e-mail personally. After class, I went to the Pee-Wee football game in Hamburg and watched my 4th and 5th graders play football and cheer. They were so cute! I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Monday, December 7, 2009. Remember I teach 4th grade so I have to be careful because they get excited pretty quickly and can be difficult to bring back to reality. I hope that all of you have a blessed week! Above are a few pictures of my class today as they watched the Magic School Bus studying the water cycle-they loved this! Friday, November 27, 2009. I have so enjoyed having this week off! I think we all needed to rejuvenate ourselves and get ready for the chaos we are sure to face until Christmas break. My kids didn't want to get much done the week before Thanksgiving anyway. It's like they were already in holiday mode! My fellow teachers and I went to the midnight showing of. Thursday night, and it was tough to get going for conferencing the next day. But we survived, and I can't wait to go back next year! Series (1-6) wh...
