Out and About: Rafting in Jackson Hole, WY

http://rtaylorb.blogspot.com/2009/06/rafting-in-jackson-hole-wy.html

Doing what i enjoy the most. Monday, June 8, 2009. Rafting in Jackson Hole, WY. I had a 3-day weekend and Anthony was getting antsy sitting around Salt Lake, so we decided to float the Snake River in Wyoming this weekend. Anthony rented a raft from his school and I headed down Friday morning. We camped out a few miles south of the town of Jackson. It rained all night. Saturday morning, we got up and headed to the river. We looked like this at the put-in spot:. June 9, 2009 at 8:36 PM.

http://rtaylorb.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Doing what i enjoy the most. Saturday, October 25, 2008. Almost to the End. This last project has been long and the end can’t come any sooner. The housing has been very nice and. Is a pretty good city. I can’t say the project has really been my favorite but at least it has been organized and the sponsors have always had some sort of work for us. We were originally supposed to head back to the Point on the 28. Of October but we got extended three days and won’t be heading back until the 31.

Out and About: The Joys of Living in Helsinki

http://rtaylorb.blogspot.com/2011/01/joys-of-living-in-helsinki.html

Doing what i enjoy the most. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. The Joys of Living in Helsinki. My goal is to blog at least once a week, most likely on the weekends. This one is kind of late since I have been sick for the past few days and haven't really wanted to concentrate on a computer screen. City crews chipping ice from the Train Station. The cities Lutheran cathedral in the City Center. The water we went through to get to an island looked frozen. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 54 Mountains, 1 Summer.

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: March 2009

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 27, 2009. Plans for this summer. Living in Salt Lake, I have great mountains right next to town. It's great. I mean really really great. There are 3 different foothills with 1,000 to 2,000 feet of elevation gain that I can climb on weeknights as a nice workout. All the trailheads are within about 2 miles of my house. The Wasatch 11,000 ft peaks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Plans for this summer. Student. I play outside during weekends. View my complete profile. Coming of Age In Samoa.

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: March 2010

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. That this stunning view is only 14.67 miles from my house? I can go places like this on weekday mornings before work. Life is good. Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Hey I still have a blog! I've been skiing the backcountry lately. It combines the painful exertion of cross country skiing with the epic wipeouts of downhill skiing. It's awesome. A quick descent after hours of climbing. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hey I still have a blog! Student. I play outside during weekends.

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: August 2008

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 26, 2008. The 2 greatest sports in the world, together at last! Yesterday, I climbed another fun peak in the Elk Range: Pyramid Peak, elevation 14,018 ft. It was a fun climb up with enough class 4 scrambling to make it exciting. We walked across fun narrow ledges and scrambled up exciting, crumbly sedimentary rock. Sunday, August 24, 2008. I climbed Snowmass Mountain yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Tuesday, August 19, 2008. The plan was to hold a beer pong tournament on the summit, how...

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: Monte Cristo and Superior

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2010/06/monte-cristo-and-superior.html

Monday, June 21, 2010. Monte Cristo and Superior. The snow is all but gone from slopes on a southerly aspect, so this weekend seemed like a good time to climb Superior and Monte Cristo. In summer conditions. Summer is trying to get here, but once gaining the ridge, a lot of the route looked like the highly precise diagram 1. This is why the trip took so long. Diagram 1: Typical ridge conditions. Also it was windy. That makes 4 11ers down! You have a sweet blog. August 1, 2010 at 7:02 PM.

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: Dusting off the hiking boots

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2010/04/dusting-off-hiking-boots.html

Monday, April 19, 2010. Dusting off the hiking boots. I was hoping for a nice snow-free hike up Mt Olympus. Yesterday, but alas it was not to be. About 2/3 of the way up the 4,200 ft ascent, snow appeared. It was perfect on the way up: just soft enough to kick steps and put an ax in, but still supportive. May 8, 2010 at 8:54 AM. Anthony's Wacky Adventures: Avalanche Rescue Dogs

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2010/04/avalanche-rescue-dogs.html

Saturday, April 10, 2010. Step 1: Get in a hole in the snow. Step 2: Get inescapably sealed in. Step 3: Let Jake the avalanche dog sniff around and dig you out. (Kind of a bad picture.). Step 4: Play tug o' war with Jake the avalanche dog. That's his reward; the promise of getting to play keeps him motivated. Plus he pulls really hard, which can help you get out of the hole in the ground. April 10, 2010 at 8:59 PM. May 8, 2010 at 8:53 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dusting off the hiking boots.

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: Sugarloaf 2: The Sugarloafening

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2010/05/sugarloaf-2-sugarloafening.html

Sunday, May 9, 2010. Sugarloaf 2: The Sugarloafening. Dedicated blog readers will recall that last year I tried unsuccessfully to summit Sugarloaf Peak. Figure 1: Doing the sacred ski dance below the. Summit to appease the mountain gods. With the pleasant hum of ski lifts in the distance I started skinning up the ridge to Sugarloaf, then stopped to strap my skis to my pack and booted up the rest of the way on intermittent snow and talus. A short while later I Captain Morgan'd the summit.

Anthony's Wacky Adventures: Red Rocks: Moab Aeterno

http://mountainexploits.blogspot.com/2010/06/red-rocks-moab-aeterno.html

Friday, June 4, 2010. Red Rocks: Moab Aeterno. Camping under a full moon. We started the short hike to Delicate Arch, famous for being on the Utah license plate. Actually, as far as I can tell, it's famous because it's very photogenic. From the proper angle, the arch stands out from the rest of the landscape and nicely frames the La Sal mountains in the background. (See this Google Image Search. Posed photo in front of Delicate Arch,. Of license plate fame. It blows my mind that such a sign exists.

Richard Taylor Designs - Hand Crafted Lighting and Accessories

As a craftsman and an artist, I have created this page for two reasons. One is to display and market my work. The other is to share information about wood and woodworking with others who share my love for it. My latest design is a table lamp. Based on the Banner sconce. The table lamp page has some detail photographs that show it off from various angles. Also, I hope you'll peruse the interactive Banner Builder page that allows you to see the full potential of our Banner sconce. 8212; James Krenov.
